About the Team


This role sits within Allstate Dealer Services (ADS), on a growing and evolving Data Team that partners closely with business leaders to drive growth, improve profitability, and reduce losses. The team operates in a highly collaborative, global model - working closely with U.S.-based business partners, AORs, and a data team in India.

Role Overview
The Data & Business Analyst is responsible for supporting business decision-making through data analysis, reporting, and business process improvement. This role serves as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams by gathering requirements, analyzing data, identifying trends, and delivering actionable insights.

The ideal candidate combines strong analytical thinking with business acumen and has a desire to develop both technical data skills and consulting capabilities. This role provides exposure to business operations, analytics, reporting, process optimization, and product initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Business Analysis

  • Partner with business stakeholders to understand business objectives, challenges, and opportunities.

  • Gather, document, and clarify business requirements and translate them into analytical solutions.

  • Lead initiatives in defining KPIs, metrics, and success measures for business initiatives.

  • Support process improvement efforts by identifying operational inefficiencies and recommending solutions.

  • Create business requirement documents, user stories, process flows, and presentations.

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Extract, clean, and analyze data from multiple sources to answer business questions.

  • Develop and maintain dashboards, scorecards, and recurring reports using tools such as Power BI or Tableau.

  • Monitor business and operational performance metrics and identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities.

  • Conduct root-cause analysis to support decision-making and problem resolution.

  • Present findings and recommendations in a clear, business-friendly manner.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Work closely with business leaders, product owners, technology teams, and operations partners.

  • Participate in project meetings, workshops, and requirement-gathering sessions.

  • Support implementation and adoption of data-driven solutions.

  • Communicate project status, risks, and analytical findings to stakeholders.

Data Governance & Quality

  • Validate data accuracy and investigate data quality issues.

  • Document metric definitions, business rules, and reporting logic.

  • Support data governance initiatives and ensure consistency across reporting solutions.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 5-10 years of experience in business analysis, data analytics, reporting, or a related field.

  • Basic proficiency in SQL for data extraction and analysis.

  • Experience with Excel and reporting/visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Ability to translate data into meaningful business insights.

Preferred

  • Experience with Python, R, or other analytical tools.

  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and project management concepts.

  • Strong foundation in statistical analysis and hypothesis testing.

  • Experience creating dashboards and executive reporting.

  • Experience with Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.

  • Knowledge of data modeling, databases, or cloud analytics platforms.

Compensation

Compensation offered for this role is 70,100.00 - 121,475.00 annually and is based on experience and qualifications.

The candidate(s) offered this position will be required to submit to a background investigation.
