We are hiring an Advisor, Marketing Operations [Full-time, Temporary, Up to 11 months] based in Edmonton, AB. We welcome applications from both internal and external candidates. The Advisor, Marketing Operations is accountable for the execution of the marketing, customer experience and product management plan and strategy for Encor and any new products which may be introduced through the Retail/Consumer Commercial Services business unit. This includes achieving the marketing, customer experience, and project partner goals identified in the business plan. This individual also leads administrative needs for the Encor by EPCOR team. 

What you’ll be responsible for:

Reporting to the Manager, Customer Experience & Operations, this position is responsible (but not limited to) the following:

  • Supporting the Encor by EPCOR strategy, plans, and team, while ensuring ongoing and effective relationships with key stakeholders and partner groups.
  • Tracking and processing all invoices for the Encor by EPCOR team and working with Finance and vendors to resolve discrepancies.
  • Supporting the administrative needs of the team, including coordinating meetings, administering SharePoint sites, and maintaining promotional item inventory.
  • Developing and implementing stratum-appropriate (3 to 11 month) deliverables within the context of the Encor operational plan.
  • Identifying budget requirements for marketing and operational initiatives and tracking associated expenses.
  • Ensuring all marketing program deliverables meet the needs of relevant stakeholders, including Corporate P&GA, Energy Services, IT, and external advertising agencies.
  • Developing, implementing, and reviewing marketing, customer experience, and business operations processes and deliverables, while ensuring compliance with EPCOR policies, standards, and regulatory requirements and mitigating risks.
  • Developing customer-facing content for websites, marketing collateral, and customer communications while ensuring alignment with brand values, the external environment, and customer interests.
  • Developing content for internal audiences to support employee engagement initiatives and executive reporting requirements.
  • Assisting with the planning and execution of customer-facing marketing initiatives, including events, promotions, sponsorships, and partnerships.
  • Assisting with the development of new product extensions and ensuring marketing strategies are practical, effective, innovative, and aligned with business objectives.
  • Managing day-to-day operational deliverables and stakeholder relationships for established products and future programs, including green energy offerings, sales reporting, and point-of-sale (POS) management.
  • Ensuring operational excellence by analyzing and reporting on real-time and post-campaign results, tracking performance against targets, monitoring expenses against budgets, and conducting supporting analyses to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Providing marketing program support to stakeholders requiring information and insights for planning purposes, particularly Contact Centre teams.
  • Providing central coordination of project approvals, deliverables, and deadlines, particularly for initiatives involving multiple departments and external agencies.
  • Developing and maintaining an understanding of the energy and utility industry by monitoring regulatory changes, competitive market activity, and customer sentiment.
  • Demonstrating a high-performance, disciplined, safe, accountable, customer-focused, innovative, achievement-oriented, and easy-to-do-business-with approach to work.

What’s required to be successful:

Education & Experience

  • University degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Strategy, Operations or related field deemed equivalent.
  • 3+ years of progressively responsible experience that includes:
    • Digital marketing, including social media, online advertising, search engine marketing, and website development.
    • Customer service and/or customer experience.
    • Marketing and sales of consumer retail products.
    • Budgeting and forecasting.
    • Working with suppliers and business partners.
    • Developing marketing and communication content.

Technical Skills

  • Knowledge of digital marketing channels, tools, and performance metrics.
  • Ability to analyze marketing, sales, customer, and financial data and develop recommendations.
  • Ability to develop and edit marketing and communication materials for various audiences.
  • Technical aptitude for understanding technology-enabled consumer products and services.
  • Familiarity with corporate financial, ERP, and business systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge of the Alberta electricity and utility industry is considered an asset.
