Job Summary
General Atomics Integrated Intelligence, Inc. (GA-Intelligence), an affiliate of General Atomics, maintains and deploys production systems for users across the Intelligence Community, Department of Defense, and commercial industry. We build and develop best-in-class all domain and globally focused situational awareness capabilities that process petabytes of data from numerous streaming data sources in near real time. Our systems apply state-of-the-art algorithms and machine learning techniques to extract features and fuse data from multiple phenomenologies to form a rich live view of objects in the sky, on the sea, and on the ground. These analytics are designed to determine not just where something is, but what it is, where it's been and what it's doing. All of this "data to knowledge" is made available to end users in our own browser-based application for visualization, analysis, and understanding. GA-Intelligence is looking for experienced Senior DevOps Engineers with Top Secret/SCI clearance to help create and develop a new Operations and Maintenance team. You, as well as the team will manage the configuration, deployment and maintenance of deployments for multiple government customers into multiple environments. We are looking for someone who can further improve our deployment process as well as our software in order to deliver what our customers need. The ability to maintain these production systems in a high stakes environment is a key success factor. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Under general direction, finds deficiencies with our product delivery lifecycle and architecture and implement industry best practices to improve them.
  • Oversees and offers input over hiring of a small DevOps team to assist the operation and maintenance of our products.
  • Inspects, patches, and upgrades our existing product(s) so that they can more reliably deliver to customer environments.
  • Maintains development, testing, and production environments.
  • Manages continuous integration and delivery pipelines to maximize efficiency.
  • Implements industry best practices for system hardening and configuration management.
  • Develops and maintains solutions for operational administration, system/data backup, disaster recovery, and security/performance monitoring.
  • Tests system integrity, implemented designs, application developments and other processes related to infrastructure, making improvements as needed.
  • Manages code deployments, fixes, updates and related processes.
  • Works with CI/CD tools, and source control (git)
  • Offers technical support where needed, developing software for our back-end systems.
  • Stays current with industry trends and source new ways for our business to improve.

Job Qualifications
  • Typically requires a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field and nine years of related experience.
  • Experience with deployment technologies, such as Kubernetes (K8s) for container orchestration.
  • Experience with metrics monitoring and dashboards (Grafana).
  • Understanding of user access practices and security controls within a system.
  • Understanding of system administration in various OS environments.
  • Strong knowledge of configuration management tools.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Understanding of software development lifecycle best practices.
  • Must be able to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Able to work on-call hours as required.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Understanding of AWS services and cloud management.
  • Experience maintaining existing production kubernetes installations.
  • Experience with kubernetes configuration management systems such as helm and GitOps.
  • Continuous integration processes and tools such as GitLab CI.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaboration tools.
  • System monitoring and analysis.
  • Familiarity with Intelligence Community and DoD mission sets.
  • CompTIA Security+ certification or willingness to get certified.
