The position

The Operational Platform Specialist is responsible for the operating, planning, and continued configuration of software platforms that support business operations at Rocky. This role requires an ability to understand Rocky's operations with sufficient technical knowledge of software platforms to operate and adjust as required, and manage relationships with third-party suppliers. 

This position works Monday through Friday in a hybrid capacity from our workshop in Canmore, Alberta, requiring a minimum of three days per week on site.  

What you'll be doing

  • Management of software platforms to support the business 
  • Serve as the primary liaison with system and platform partners and vendors, overseeing relationships and leading contract negotiations
  • Lead project management for upgrades, feature adds/changes, implementation of new platforms, modules, and/or functionality.
  • Provide system support across the business, which includes all troubleshooting, and systems and hardware procurement for all employees and retail stores 
  • Oversee ongoing system administration, setup and maintenance of data flows and integrations
  • Evaluate and implement platform improvements from a financial and organizational perspective that support strategic objectives 
  • Work with individuals and groups throughout the organization to provide technology solutions based on the organization's needs 
  • Provide coaching, training, and support for software platforms as required to the organization, including SOP creation  
  • Ensure the accuracy of data within platforms through the implementation and monitoring of controls, both technical and operational 
  • Manage appropriate access to systems through system administrative controls, including account creation and review.  
  • Utilize systems to formulate regular and ad hoc reports to provide the business with the information required to make informed decisions 
  • Oversee the IT budget, ensuring effective allocation, cost management and alignment to contracts 

Does this sound like you?

  • Proven advanced operational and functional knowledge of various software platforms, including Enterprise Resource Planning (NetSuite), Point of Sale (Shopify), ShipStation, StoreForce, Celigo Integrator, Microsoft, PowerBI
  • Certification in Information Systems, or Computer Science
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in system operations  
  • Strong organizational skills with a solid technical understanding and budget management 
  • Proven ability to learn and make use of new functions and technologies 
  • Demonstrated Project Management experience and skills
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
