Job description

SHR Talent is partnering with a client in Atlanta, GA, in its search for an experienced Operations Specialist to join their team in a 100% onsite capacity. The Operations Specialist will play a key role in supporting manufacturing operations by coordinating projects, facilitating new product introductions, maintaining operational data, and driving process improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, quality, and overall plant performance.

The ideal candidate for the Operations Specialist role will bring a combination of manufacturing experience, strong analytical skills, project coordination abilities, and a continuous improvement mindset. This individual will work closely with operations, supply chain, quality, and leadership teams to ensure operational objectives are achieved and business goals are supported.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and support new product introduction activities to ensure smooth implementation into production.
  • Manage project timelines, action items, and communication between cross-functional teams.
  • Serve as a liaison between operations, quality, supply chain, and commercial teams to support business objectives.
  • Maintain and update production data, specifications, standards, and operational documentation.
  • Generate and analyze reports related to productivity, quality, inventory, and operational performance.
  • Assist with production planning activities and support operational readiness for product launches and process changes.
  • Track and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and identify trends that support data-driven decision-making.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, waste reduction, cost savings, and productivity enhancements.
  • Assist with root cause investigations and implementation of corrective actions for operational challenges.
  • Coordinate meetings, document action items, and ensure follow-up on project deliverables and improvement initiatives.
  • Support inventory optimization efforts and maintain operational master data.
  • Assist with safety initiatives, compliance activities, and operational audits.
  • Collaborate with leadership on special projects and strategic operational initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations Management, Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, project coordination, supply chain, production planning, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including data analysis, reporting, and spreadsheet management.
  • Experience working with ERP systems required; Sage X3 experience is a plus.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, Six Sigma, or related methodologies preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to work 100% onsite in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
