Job Title: Transportation Planner
Location: 825 E Douglas Ave, Wichita, KS 67202
Duration: 6 months
PR: $20.00 - 25.00/hr on W2
 
Job Description:
Schedule: Monday through Friday 7:30-4:30 PM OR 8:00-5:00 PM
 
The Transportation Planner  will help coordinate client shipments & deliveries to customers & plants.
In this role, you will monitor key integrated business planning performance indicators, cost-to-serve performance data, and help coordinate deliveries to meet high customer-service standards.
Help communicate transportation issues with Business unit stakeholders & carriers
.Work with plants & shipping locations to coordinate pickups.
 
*Other duties as assigned*
Handle basic issues and problems under direct supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
 
*Minimum Qualifications*
Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
 
Notes:
  • This temporary position is to provide additional track and trace support for  Packaged Truck Operations.
  • This role is responsible for tracking and tracing day to day Packaged Truck deliveries for the Food Enterprise, specifically focused on starches, sweeteners & texturizers.
  • Responsibilities include carrier shipment tracking and communication with external and internal stakeholders.
  • Works with customer service and transportation team members to provide updates and work to ensure timely pickup and delivery requirements are being met and communicate risks.
 
Position Description:
This role is responsible for planning day to day Packaged Truck deliveries.
 
Responsibilities include:
• Carrier utilization and scheduling, cost and service reporting and communication with external and internal stakeholders.
• Works with Sales and Supply Chain groups to understand requirements and make best value delivery decisions to support client's customer requirements.
• Supports the sourcing strategy by tendering and managing orders in SAP with tiered carrier rankings.
• Responsible for day-to-day management of orders from an assigned set of plants and public warehouses.
• Includes building loads, monitoring of unrouted orders, coordinating ship and delivery dates, handling customer add-ons and broken or changed loads and logging and approving carrier invoiced costs.
Typical requirements include a degree in logistics, transportation, business or a related field and 2 or more years of experience or 4 years of experience.
