Job description

Koniag IT Systems, LLC, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking an NCO Technical Lead to support KITS and our government customer in Washington, DC. This position is for a Future New Business Opportunity.   

The customer may need support as needed at other locations: Warrenton, VA, Atlantic City, NJ, Melbourne, FL, Oklahoma, OK and Leesburg, VA.

We are seeking an experienced NCO Technical Lead to conduct advanced software and systems engineering activities, support software systems research, and develop new technical capabilities with integrated cybersecurity considerations. The NCO Technical Lead will evaluate emerging technologies, assess potential vulnerabilities, and guide the development of secure, missiondriven solutions. This role requires a seasoned technical leader with deep engineering expertise and strong experience in cybersecurityfocused system evaluation.

Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Conduct software and systems engineering to develop new or enhanced capabilities.
  • Lead software systems research efforts, ensuring cybersecurity is embedded throughout the system lifecycle.
  • Perform comprehensive technology research to identify and evaluate potential vulnerabilities in cyberspace systems.
  • Provide technical leadership in designing, developing, integrating, and validating secure software and system components.
  • Work collaboratively with crossfunctional teams to ensure engineering solutions meet mission, performance, and security requirements.
  • Guide technical staff, oversee engineering tasks, and ensure alignment with project objectives and timelines.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics from an accredited institution.
  • Ten (10) years of experience directly supporting the activities described in this position.
  • At least two (2) years of relevant experience must be recent (performed within the last three years).
  • Five (5) years of management and supervisory experience within the required experience timeframe.
  • Two (2) of those five (5) years must have been in a lead role.
  • Experience overseeing operational cybersecurity, threat intelligence teams, and/or threat intelligence functions.
  • At least one (1) of the following risk assessment or cybersecurity certifications:
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
  • GIAC Certified Enterprise Defender (GCED)
  • CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP)
  • Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in systems engineering for cybersecuritysensitive environments.
  • Background in vulnerability research, cyber systems modeling, or secure architecture design.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and technical documentation skills.
