Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular Surgical ICU position requiring at least one year of recent CSICU experience and Epic proficiency.

Details
  • Work in a 12-bed Cardiovascular Surgical ICU (CSICU) within a hospital setting
  • Care for critically ill patients recovering from cardiac surgery, vascular surgery, and other intensive care interventions
  • Patient population ranges from young adults to geriatric patients
  • Staffing ratio of 1:1 for direct recovery of open heart patients and 1:2 for other ICU patients
  • Night shift schedule from 7:00pm to 7:00am
  • 36 hours per week across three 12-hour shifts
  • Every other weekend (EOW) required
  • Every other holiday (EOH) required
  • No on-call responsibilities
Requirements
  • Active RN license in North Carolina (NC or compact) currently in hand
  • Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC) required
  • ACLS certification required
  • Minimum of one year of recent CSICU experience required
  • Minimum of one year of overall nursing experience required
  • Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited nursing school required; BSN or MSN preferred
  • Epic EMR experience required
Additional Information
  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to complex, critically ill cardiovascular surgical patients
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to coordinate and evaluate patient care plans
  • Perform bedside point-of-care testing as part of patient care
  • Participate in discharge planning and patient/family education
  • Contribute to unit performance improvement and safety initiatives
  • Maintain compliance with healthcare standards, policies, and regulatory guidelines
