PRN Registered Nurse

Cardinal Points Imaging of the Carolinas (CPIC) is seeking a PRN Registered Nurse to join our outpatient imaging team!

Position Status: PRN Schedule: Weekday and weekend coverage as needed Location: Coverage across CPIC locations in Brier Creek, Cary, Clayton, Midtown, and Wake Forest

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse works closely with patients, technologists, physicians, and other team members to provide safe, high-quality patient care in an outpatient imaging setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide nursing care before, during, and after imaging procedures.
  • Prepare patients for procedures and obtain vital signs and medical history.
  • Start and maintain IVs and access power ports as needed.
  • Administer medications and contrast as ordered.
  • Monitor patients during procedures and document their condition.
  • Explain procedures and answer patient questions.
  • Assist technologists with patient preparation and positioning.
  • Support procedures requiring conscious sedation as needed.
  • Follow all patient safety and clinical guidelines.
  • Maintain clean and organized patient care areas.
  • Assist with supplies and inventory.
  • Work closely with staff to provide timely, excellent patient care.
  • Assist with other clinical duties as needed.

Requirements

EXPERIENCE :

  • Minimum 2 years as an RN in a clinical setting

EDUCATION :

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited RN program.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS :

  • Must meet the state licensure requirement for the state in which they practice. BLS certification required within 60 days of hire. ACLS certification may be required.

SKILLS/ABILITIES :

  • Ability to work independently and multitask.
  • Ability to provide documentation accurately and concisely.
  • Ability to manage medical emergencies and contrast reactions under the direction of a licensed independent practitioner.
  • Knowledge of computer applications, including information and billing systems, keyboard input, digital archiving, and retrieving of data.
