Role Summary:

The Account Executive is responsible for generating new business and expanding existing client relationships within the Audio-Visual (AV) Integration and Managed Services space. This outside sales role requires a consultative approach to understanding customer needs and delivering tailored AV solutions that include hardware, software, design, installation, and support services.

Key responsibilities include identifying and qualifying prospects, conducting on-site client meetings, delivering presentations and proposals, and closing sales opportunities.

The Account Executive will work closely with engineering, project management, and support teams to ensure proposed solutions are aligned with client objectives and executed to the highest standard.

Strong knowledge of AV systems—such as video conferencing, digital signage, sound reinforcement, control systems, and classroom or conference room technologies—is essential. The ability to build trust, navigate technical conversations, and manage long sales cycles is critical to success.

This position operates primarily in the field, with frequent visits to K–12 schools, higher education institutions, corporate offices, municipal/government buildings, and other commercial environments. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, personable, highly organized, and driven to meet and exceed performance targets in a competitive industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all sales and marketing targets are met or exceeded by assisting in the formation, development and implementation of sales and marketing strategies and policies.
  • Help the continued sales growth and success of the company by ensuring all customers are contacted routinely and customer service efforts exceed their expectations.
  • Achieve the sales and profit goals established by Senior Management through the following:
    1. Providing customer service and satisfaction
    2. Contacting customers on a routine basis
  • Serve and contact customers in a pleasant and professional manner and ensure that all customer complaints are handled quickly.
  • Analyze and understand the sales reports to determine the current status versus monthly and annual goals, including scheduling needs based on sales, and react accordingly to variances.
  • Establish sales goals to meet the Division Sales Manager plans and company goals, and ensure those goals are achieved.
  • Ensure that expense accounts are being monitored and within the budgeted guidelines.
  • Ability to understand and follow all sales and operations department processes and procedures.
  • Ability to effectively work and communicate with the internal operations departments (i.e. installation, engineering, service & purchasing.)
  • Work closely with the Division Sales Manager in setting prices, developing promotions, offering discounts, and tailoring products and services to unique markets, to increase sales.
  • Protect company assets by ensuring the accurate and secure operation of company equipment, invoices, work orders and the responsible and prudent handling of credit sales.
  • Responsible for the implementation of Policy and Operating Procedures for the company that reflects the current methods of conducting business.
  • Responsible for complying with all local, state, and federal laws and statutes regarding OSHA, labor laws, and other governmental regulations.
  • Strive toward increasing product knowledge by reading trade publications and vendor supplied materials, attending sales training as provided by vendor representatives, and by attending conventions, seminars and other meetings to enhance professional knowledge and to promote the company when possible.
  • Remain updated on the events in the industry and the marketplace in order to take advantage of short and long-term opportunities.
  • Submit reports as required by the Sales Manager in an accurate and timely manner and communicate on a regular basis with the Director of Sales.
  • Fulfill other duties and projects that may be assigned from time to time by Sales Manager.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or business administration required.
  • ICIA/ CTS Certification preferred.
  • A valid driver’s license is required, this role requires travel to customer and vendor sites.
  • Excellent customer service skills, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and a professional demeanor.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving many variables and stay calm under stressful conditions.
