Job description

  • Amentum has an Operating Engineer (HV Shop) position opening at our Springfield, VA location. The licensed Operating Engineer operates and Maintains one or more systems that provide an establishment with such services as heat, air-conditioning, refrigeration, steam or high-temperature water or electricity in the CUP.

    Must be a U.S. Citizen and possess an active Top Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI.

    Essential Responsibilities:

  • Observe and interpret readings on gauges, meters and charts which register various aspects of the system and to meet demand for the service provided
  • Record logs in various aspects of the systems operation, keeping the engines, machinery and equipment of the system in good working order
  • Direct and coordinate activities of other workers in performing task directly related to operating and maintaining the system or systems
  • Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
  • Must be skilled in the repair of electronic control equipment; workers in establishments producing electricity, steam, or heated or cooled air.
  • Ability to lift 45 lbs.
  • Must be a US citizen.
  • Must possess and maintain an active DoD TS clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI
  • Minimum Knowledge

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • MD stationary engineer license level 1 or DC stationary engineer level 3 required.
