Position Overview:Acme Concrete Paving Inc. is seeking a skilled and experienced Concrete Batch Plant Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of concrete production, equipment operation, and safety protocols.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate the concrete batch plant, ensuring the correct mix design, water content, and admixtures are used.
  • Monitor plant operations to ensure compliance with production and safety standards.
  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections of the batch plant equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate records of batch production, including quantities, mix designs, and material usage.
  • Manage the supply chain for concrete production, ensuring timely procurement and efficient delivery of raw materials to maintain optimal inventory levels and uninterrupted plant operations.
  • Coordinate with the quality control team to ensure the concrete meets the required specifications.
  • Load and dispatch concrete trucks efficiently to meet delivery schedules.
  • Communicate effectively with plant personnel, drivers, and management.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to complete projects within established timelines and quality standards.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Concrete Batch Plant Operator or similar role in a concrete production environment.
  • Strong knowledge of concrete mix designs, batching processes, and related equipment.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of batching software, with a preference for experience using Rc3 and or Jonel-Archer systems.
  • Ability to interpret project plans, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check as required for certain high-security projects.
  • A willingness to work flexible hours and travel to project sites as needed.
  • Physical stamina and ability to work in various weather conditions.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Membership in the International Union of Operating Engineers
