Cowles Real Estate is a subsidiary of Cowles Company located in Spokane, Washington for over one hundred years. The company owns and manages property located throughout the Western United States including vacant land, office buildings, retail structures, residential complexes, and industrial sites. The mission of Cowles Real Estate is to provide superior real estate services including leasing, sales, and property management.
We provide real estate leasing, sales, construction, and property management services as well as security, janitorial, facilities engineering, and parking garage services. All our buildings and land holdings are meticulously managed and maintained by our in-house staff members providing a superior environment for our tenants, employees, and the cmmunity alike.
Position: Building Maintenance Technician II
Status: Full-time
Salary: $21-28/hr., DOE
Hours: 7-4, Monday - Friday, rotating on-call and weekend shifts
About this role:
This position serves to support the Maintenance department in maintaining and repairing physical structures and maintaining grounds by performing the following duties.
*This position is classified as safety-sensitive and requires drug testing.*
What you'll do:​
  • Handle various maintenance repairs as they arise with our commercial and residential tenants including but not limited to HVAC, plumbing, drywall installation, painting, and general building repair.
  • Must be a team player and dependable along with being able to take direction and work independently.
  • Utilize scissor lift for painting, cleaning, changing light bulbs (lift operation certification obtained with training by company).
  • Perform and document routine inspection and maintenance activities
  • Drive company vehicles to purchase supplies and dispose of large fixtures, excess waste, etc.
  • Must be able to professional communicate with multiple departments on various special and seasonal projects
  • Computer literacy including management, and close-out maintenance work orders in Yardi.
  • Actively participate in weekly maintenance meetings.
  • Perform all duties within required safety standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.
What you'll contribute to our team:
  • One year certificate from college or technical school; and/or 3+ years’ experience/training
  • Three to 6 months related experience and or training; or
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience.
  • Valid Driver's License and clean driving record, with minor driving infractions as determined by the Company.
  • Able to lift and move items frequently, up to 50 pounds.
  • Able to work independently with minor supervision.
  • Works well with others and is a team player
  • Able to work weekends and holidays as needed
  • Able to work in inclement weather (i.e. rain, snow, cold, heat, etc.
  • This position requires you to be on-call on a rotation basis with other Maintenance team members.
