Job description

ABM, a leading provider of integrated facility solutions, is looking for a Building Engineer.
The Building Engineer supports the designated leadership with the daily operations of all building systems. This includes hard surface maintenance and repair, basic carpentry and metal work, operating, maintaining and repairing all facility system equipment associated with HVAC operations and mechanical and electrical systems. The Building Engineer will also respond to customer requests and submit and close work orders as necessary and perform other duties as assigned.
Pay: $52.02 per hour/Weekly pay

Essential Functions
• Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Address and resolve building system malfunctions in a timely manner to minimize disruptions.
• Respond to service requests and emergencies during and after business hours.
• Schedule and coordinate service calls with internal teams and external vendors.
Facility Operations
• Monitor building management systems (BMS) to optimize energy usage and system performance.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and environmental regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and repair history.
• Escort vendors and contractors on-site, ensuring adherence to site protocols and safety requirements.
Project Support
• Assist with capital improvement projects and renovations, providing technical input and oversight.
• Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and suppliers to schedule repairs and procure materials.
• Participate in the development and implementation of standard operating procedures for facility operations.
Safety and Compliance
• Conduct regular safety inspections and address hazards promptly.
• Support emergency preparedness initiatives and conduct drills as required.
• Adhere to OSHA, ADA, and other regulatory requirements.
Communication and Collaboration
• Work closely with property management, tenants, and other stakeholders to address facility-related concerns.

Qualifications
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in building engineering, facilities management, or a related field.
Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and building automation systems (BAS).
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Knowledge of building codes, safety standards, and energy efficiency practices.
Soft Skills:
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Certifications:
• EPA Universal Certification for refrigerants (preferred).
• Relevant trade licenses or certifications (e.g., HVAC, electrical, plumbing) are a plus.
Physical Requirements
