Job Summary:

The Trane Technologies Regional Supplier Quality Engineer will work with strategic suppliers to improve their quality performance as received by Trane manufacturing sites as well as by final customers in the field.This will include ensuring compliance with the Global Supplier Quality Manual as defined in Trane Technologies Business Operating System (BOS).This role requires strong quality engineering and ISO 9001 quality management systems experience. In collaboration with internal cross-functional team members such as field quality, operations, engineering, and procurement, this role will serve as subject matter expert for supplier quality performance and maturity.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides servant leadership for the supplier corrective action program for the assigned business.This includes increasing the tool usage across sites as well as improving efficiency and effectiveness for non-conforming material, return material authorization, and corrective action requests.
  • Provides suppliers with technical oversight and expertise in areas such as process development, PFMEA, control plans, PPAP, measurement systems, standard work, and error proofing when required.
  • Coordinates initiatives between manufacturing site SQEs and suppliers in effective problem solving.
  • Assists in the management of supplier-caused quality escapes which may include on-site intervention.
  • Supports supplier recovery initiatives as it relates to warranty, concessions, and production interruptions.
  • Leverage Enterprise supplier development team and commodity-based expertise when needed.
  • Coordinates supplier-initiated temporary or permanent change requests that impact multiple Trane manufacturing sites.
  • Promotes supplier quality maturity throughout the organization and drives the applicable KPIs.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Engineering or related technical field preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in various functions of manufacturing, engineering, and/or quality
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and cross-culturally within a matrixed organization
  • Exceptional analytical and detailed problem-solving skills
  • Experience with lean principles and techniques to include visual management, Kaizen, value stream mapping, root cause analysis, and culture of quality
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to travel up to 50% both domestically and internationally (most within the Americas)
  • Experience in manufacturing environments preferred
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or equivalent body of knowledge preferred
