Job Title: Engineering Internship

Location: Rogersville, TN

Job Function: Engineeringย 

Job Summary: Join our Engineering team as an Intern and assist in the support of manufacturing processes. You'll research and resolve production problems, address operating system issues, and help develop and implement standards for process equipment, tooling, and methods.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be an active participant in the Dodge safety program.
  • Create, improve and implement manufacturing processes.
  • Develops and drives implementation of best practices, routines, and innovative solutions to improve production rates and output quality.ย  Scope includes but not limited to scrap reduction, downtime reduction, FPY increase, OEE increase and warranty PPM reduction.
  • Utilize Lean, Six Sigma, and other best practice tools and principles for day-to-day problem solving and continuous improvement.
  • Analyze and plan workflow, equipment placement and space requirements to improve manufacturing efficiency.
  • Assist manufacturing engineering in support of the business/production unit.
  • Attend and participate in regular engineering meetings.
  • Participate in project engineering efforts associated with equipment, tooling, and materials.
  • Assist the quality department to develop standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation.
  • Assist in the recording, evaluating, and reporting of quality and reliability data.

Qualifications:

โ€ข Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program from an accredited university in the United States.
โ€ข Must be currently authorized to work for Dodge Industrial in the US.
โ€ข Strong analytical skills with an emphasis on critical thinking, root cause analysis, and problem solving.
โ€ข Collaborates well with others and is a good team player.
โ€ข Entrepreneurial spirit with passion for new and changing ideas.
โ€ข Familiar with MS Office and SolidWorks.
โ€ข Ability to adapt and multi-task based on departmental needs.

Physical Requirements:

โ€ข Ability to lift and pull up to 50 pounds.
โ€ข Speak and present in person to individuals and small groups.
โ€ข Extended periods of sitting at a workstation.
โ€ข Intermittent standing and walking within the office environment.
โ€ข Hosting and travel are required for meetings, conferences, or customer visits.
โ€ข Office attendance is a requirement of the role.
