As one of the newest Chenega companies, Chenega Defense & Aerospace Solutions (CDAS) was developed with the purpose of providing expert Engineering and Technical Support Services to federal customers.

The Senior Research Analyst will provide expertise in open-source media monitoring and analysis, provide qualitative and quantitative analyses of open-source research findings, consolidate and assess massive datasets and produce comprehensive reports for senior staff.


Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Expertise in providing qualitative and quantitative analyses of open-source research findings.
  • Expertise in consolidating and assessing massive data sets and producing comprehensive reports for senior staff.
  • Ability to convert news, social media, associated metrics, and metadata into structured data.
  • Visualize and explain patterns in data such as mapping source networks.
  • Identify and evaluate appropriate interventions to resolve complex communication problems and issues and develop new or modified approaches or procedures for delivering effective Public Affairs messaging.
  • Conduct online media, publishing and advertising metrics, systems, and platforms; search engine optimization (SEO) related tools and metrics.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master's degree or higher required.
  • 3+ years of experience in the application of scientific research methods and data science in the field of communication/mass media, or related social science.
  • Secret DoD security clearance required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to identify and evaluate appropriate interventions to resolve complex communication problems and issues and develop new or modified approaches or procedures for delivering effective Public Affairs messaging.
  • Knowledge of SEO/Advertising metrics.
  • Ability to capture, visualize and explain patterns in data, like mapping source networks.
  • Ability to detect and analyze cause and effect relationships between events in the information environment and DoD and Joint Staff policies, strategy, operations, and activities.
  • Skill in verbal and written communications to convey a wide variety of highly technical information to diverse audiences in an understandable manner, using a variety of methods as suited for the type of presentation.
  • Knowledge of and familiarity with government provided and/or commercially available media monitoring tools (e.g., Talkwalker, Dataminr, Scraawl, Meltwater).
  • Ability to convert news, social media, associated metrics, and metadata into structured data.
  • Expertise with open-source media monitoring and analysis.
