Job description

Ontario Center is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Business Office Manager (BOM) to join our team in Canandaigua, NY.

This is not a typical office position. The role is fast-paced and requires exceptional organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while working closely with residents, families, and internal departments. The ideal candidate has prior office/finance experience.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience with Medicare, Medicaid, managed care, and insurance processes preferred

  • Confidence and professionalism when discussing financial matters with residents and families

  • Ability to learn and navigate multiple computer programs and databases efficiently

  • Exceptional attention to detail with a high level of accuracy

  • Strong organizational, time-management, and follow-through skills

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing competing priorities

DUTIES:

  • Meet with residents and families to discuss financial responsibilities and payment obligations

  • Assist Medicaid applicants with gathering and submitting required documentation

  • Maintain accurate resident census information within billing and clinical software systems

  • Collect private-pay balances and resident income owed to the facility

  • Assist with insurance verification and authorization processes

  • Manage and distribute resident trust funds

  • Ensure all admission and financial agreements are completed and properly executed

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure accurate financial and resident records

  • Perform additional duties as assigned
