What is online proofreading?

Online proofreading is the process of reviewing digital documents to identify and correct errors in grammar, spelling, punctuation, and formatting. Proofreaders ensure that written content is clear, consistent, and free of mistakes before it is published or shared online. This work is often done remotely, allowing proofreaders to work from anywhere with an internet connection. Online proofreaders may work on a variety of materials, including articles, websites, academic papers, and business documents.

What is an online proofreading job?

Online proofreading positions vary by job type and title, but they essentially all involve the same thing: reading and reviewing written pieces for grammatical and punctuation errors and content quality. Your goal as a proofreader is to edit the project to ensure that all documents and drafts are completely error-free before publishing. Your duties are to edit, re-writing, and correct the content. Online professionals do all of this work from the comfort of their home. You may see proofreading jobs listed as editor, copywriter, line editor, book editor, proofer, and more. While these titles may have slightly different responsibilities, your core job remains the same.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an online proofreader?

To excel as an Online Proofreader, you need strong language proficiency, a keen eye for detail, and a solid understanding of grammar, punctuation, and style guides, often supported by a relevant degree or experience. Familiarity with editing tools, such as Microsoft Word's Track Changes, Google Docs, and proofreading software like Grammarly, is typically required. Outstanding time management, communication, and the ability to work independently set exceptional proofreaders apart. These competencies ensure error-free, polished content and reliable client satisfaction in a fast-paced digital environment.

What are some common challenges faced by online proofreaders and how can they be managed?

Online proofreaders often face challenges such as tight deadlines, varied writing styles from multiple clients, and the need to maintain high attention to detail across long documents. Managing these challenges typically involves strong time management, setting clear communication with clients regarding expectations, and using digital tools to streamline the proofreading process. Additionally, staying updated on grammar conventions and style guides helps ensure consistency and quality in your work.

We specialize in cutting-edge technologies that enable innovation in AI, cloud computing, and enterprise infrastructure. Our product portfolio includes DDR4/DDR5 DIMMs, NAND-based SSDs, and advanced interconnect technologies such as CXL and PCIe.

Join our world-class engineering team and be part of shaping the future of memory and storage architecture.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a creative, organized, and proactive Technical Marketing Communications Specialist with familiarity or interest in the DRAM and NAND flash memory industry. This role is well suited to someone who enjoys translating complex technology, market developments, and product value propositions into clear, engaging marketing communications.

You may be developing social media and website content one day, coordinating a product brochure or sales presentation the next, supporting an industry event, or helping launch a campaign around memory solutions, storage products, or technology partnerships. The ideal candidate is comfortable working across technical, commercial, and creative teams in a fast-moving environment.

As a Technical Marketing Communications Specialist, you will help execute marketing initiatives across memory products, technology solutions, customer segments, and business lines. You will work closely with marketing, product management, sales, engineering, and external partners to keep projects on track, maintain brand consistency, and create useful, credible content for customers, channel partners, and industry audiences.

No two days will be the same. We are looking for someone who can manage competing priorities, ask thoughtful questions about technical subjects, and jump in wherever needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate day-to-day marketing projects from initial concept through review, approval, production, and launch.
  • Support marketing programs for DRAM, NAND flash, SSD, embedded memory, enterprise storage, or related semiconductor and technology solutions.
    • Assist with planning, creating, scheduling, and publishing content across business social media platforms.
    • Develop and maintain marketing collateral, including product briefs, datasheets, brochures, sales presentations, signage, advertisements, case studies, and promotional materials.
    • Update and maintain company websites, product pages, landing pages, resource libraries, and other online content.
    • Help translate product specifications, performance benefits, reliability features, and market positioning into customer-facing messaging.
    • Coordinate print projects and work with internal stakeholders, designers, printers, agencies, and other external vendors.
    • Support email campaigns, product announcements, newsletters, channel communications, and other digital marketing activities.
    • Assist with photography, videography, product imagery, technical diagrams, and content collection for marketing initiatives.
    • Help coordinate trade shows, customer meetings, distributor activities, product launches, webinars, promotions, partnerships, and community outreach programs.
    • Maintain project timelines, meeting notes, content calendars, and approval workflows to ensure projects are delivered on schedule.
    • Communicate with marketing, sales, product management, engineering, operations, and external vendors to resolve issues and meet deadlines.
    • Help ensure consistent brand standards, product messaging, terminology, and visual identity across marketing materials.
    • Conduct market and competitive research related to memory products, storage trends, customer applications, semiconductor demand, and industry developments.
    • Track campaign performance, website activity, social engagement, lead-generation results, and other key metrics; prepare basic reports and recommendations.
    • Assist with brainstorming new campaigns, product promotions, channel programs, thought-leadership content, and creative initiatives.
    • Provide general marketing and administrative support as business priorities require.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Graphic Design, Engineering, Technology Management, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience will also be considered.
    • One to three years of experience in marketing, communications, product marketing, technology, electronics, semiconductors, data storage, or a related industry preferred.
    • Familiarity with, coursework in, or demonstrated interest in DRAM, NAND flash, SSDs, data storage, semiconductor products, or electronics markets.
    • Ability to understand and communicate technical concepts clearly to nontechnical audiences without losing accuracy.
    • Excellent written, verbal, editing, and proofreading skills.
    • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects with changing deadlines.
    • Experience managing social media platforms, digital content, and content calendars in a professional or business-to-business setting.
    • Familiarity with website content-management systems, such as WordPress or similar platforms.
    • Basic understanding of digital marketing, SEO, email marketing, web analytics, and campaign-performance reporting.
    • Comfort collaborating with cross-functional teams, including sales, engineering, product management, operations, and external partners.
    • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and follow projects through to completion.
    • Positive attitude, creative mindset, intellectual curiosity, and willingness to learn a technically sophisticated product category.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • DRAM, NAND flash, SSD, embedded memory, enterprise storage, semiconductor, electronics, or data-center markets.
    • Product marketing, technical marketing, channel marketing, or marketing support for B2B technology products.
    • Photography, video editing, product demonstrations, or technical-content development.
    • Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Figma, or similar design and content-production tools.
    • Google Analytics, Google Search Console, or other web-analytics platforms.
    • LinkedIn Campaign Manager or business social-media campaign tools.
