Job description

Job Purpose:

Responsible for overseeing and coordinating program activities to meet customer commitments. Serves as primary customer contact and is responsible for providing regular updates to the Leonardo management team on status and outlook. Coordinates proposal efforts and generates program plans and program financial reports. Responsible for interfacing with manufacturing and finance departments and is accountable for program success.

Responsibilities:

  • The generation of program plans based off the contract, Statement of Work, and Customer’s intent. This includes, building a WBS and understanding facility and test equipment needs, as well as the identification and planning of staff within the program budget.
  • Execute multiple complex programs to ensure cost, schedule and technical metrics are being tracked and within program plans.
  • Provide expertise in proposal development by leading the capture and proposal writing/delivery while ensuring adherence to gated capture process.
  • Identify and address conflicts to appropriate resolution both internally within the program team as well as externally with the customer regarding execution assumptions and prioritization.
  • Create Subcontractor statements of work and manage/track Subcontractors to ensure proper execution.
  • Lead multi-functional teams.
  • Provide regular program briefs to program team as well as Leonardo Laser and Leonardo Corporate Leadership teams.
  • Create and maintain an environment that fosters collaboration by giving clear direction and constructive feedback to the team.
  • Monitor progress against goals: anticipate risks, resolve issues, and initiate corrective actions as appropriate.
  • Provide mentorship to team members
  • Identify program opportunities and create and direct plans to realize increased growth and/or impact within a currently executing program.
  • Support the development of Leonardo Growth Strategies.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum of 5 years of relevant prior experience in Government contracting or research and development.
  • Program Manager or Control Account Manager experience in design and development and/or build contracts including Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) definition, schedule generation, financial analysis/reporting, and resource management.
  • Experience in Proposal Management including planning and cost estimation.
  • Experience managing large, complex projects for the Department of Defense, Department of Transportation or the Department of Energy.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Successful experience in leading and managing multi-disciplined teams.
  • Strong presentation and organizational skills
