What is an online operator?

Online Operators are professionals responsible for monitoring, managing, and supporting digital systems, websites, or online services. Their duties often include troubleshooting technical issues, ensuring smooth online operations, and assisting customers or users via digital platforms. They may also handle data entry, system updates, and report generation as part of their role. Online Operators are commonly employed by companies that rely on web-based operations, such as e-commerce sites, IT support centers, and digital service providers.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an online operator, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Online Operator, you need strong computer literacy, attention to detail, and often a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with online platforms, data entry software, customer service systems, and sometimes specific CRM tools is typically required. Excellent communication, problem-solving abilities, and time management are crucial soft skills in this role. These skills ensure efficient digital operations, accurate data handling, and effective customer or client interactions in a fast-paced online environment.

What are some common challenges faced by online operators, and how can they effectively manage them?

Online Operators often encounter challenges such as handling high volumes of real-time data, responding quickly to technical issues, and ensuring continuous system uptime. To manage these effectively, operators should develop strong problem-solving skills, stay updated with the latest operational protocols, and work closely with IT and support teams to address issues promptly. Regular training and clear communication with team members can also help maintain smooth operations and minimize disruptions.

Job description

About DualEntry
DualEntry is building the OS for finance.
Every business needs a financial system of record, yet the world's largest fintech market ($220B+) still runs on software from the 1990s, with no new entrants in 30 years. DualEntry's AI-native ERP automates accounting from data entry to close, so finance teams move faster, spend less and incur less risk.
In just 2 years we've raised $100M+ from Lightspeed, Khosla Ventures, Contrary and Google Ventures and earned the trust of customers from $5M ARR to publicly traded companies.
We hire outliers. We're looking for people with a track record of accomplishing difficult things, whether through their careers or achievements outside of work. You'll find leaders, colleagues who've competed at the highest levels of sport, performed on Broadway, trained with UFC champions and founded the country's largest Python community - because that's what it takes to reinvent a $220B industry.
Location: New York City HQ, 7 World Trade Center
Where you'll create impact
You'll own the channels where finance and startup people love coming to. And you'll move faster than the incumbents.
  • The reply that gets 500 likes because you posted it 10 minutes after the moment happened
  • The video you shot on your phone this morning that founders are sharing with their teams
  • The subreddit thread where someone's complaining about NetSuite and you're already there with the answer

You'll work directly with the Founders to amplify their voice across X, LinkedIn, and the communities where it matters. You'll measure success in engagement, follower growth, and the number of finance leaders who know DualEntry because they saw you in their timeline.
What sets you up for success
  • 3+ years running social for a startup, creator, or founder.
  • You live on founder and SaaS internet. You know what's happening today without being told.
  • Native short-form writing instincts. First line does 80% of the work.
  • Speed over perfection. You'd rather post and adjust than wait for approval.
  • Hardcore work ethic. Social doesn't respect business hours.

Nice to have: fintech, accounting, or B2B SaaS familiarity • your own newsletter, podcast, or side project • community-building experience • paid social experience • a background that's more "extremely online operator" than "agency social media manager"
Why you'll thrive here
  • Significant equity ownership in one of the top AI companies in the world
  • You're joining early and will grow with DualEntry
  • Your feedback shapes the product directly
  • High-speed, high-trust environment with high expectations
Meet the Marketing Team
  • Jan made sure we were the ones being understood. Owned marketing messaging, positioning, and voice. Redesigned the DualEntry website in her first 90 days. Also launched a bi-coastal NYC/SF campaign covering over 100+ billboards that lifted brand visibility and awareness
  • Ana took the lead and owned the community and events at DualEntry from end to end. Thousands of attendees across 15+ events in 6 months. Dinners, roundtables, poker night and much more!
  • George grew organic search traffic from 2-5 clicks a day to 80-90 clicks a day, a 2330% increase (24x), excluding career and branded queries, through targeted SEO and content work.
  • Bruno built Slack bots that surface CFO job changes and funding announcements in real time, automate our gifting flow, and sync everything to HubSpot and Hex, so signals become warm intros and campaign performance lands directly in our dashboards.

Compensation & Benefits
  • Equity: $50,000 - $75,000
  • Base Salary: $160,000 - $210,000
  • Medical, dental & vision insurance
  • One Medical membership
  • Mental health support (Talkspace)
  • Fertility & family-building support (Kindbody)
  • Virtual healthcare (Teladoc Health)
  • 401(k)
  • Commuter benefits
  • Learning & development budget for courses, certifications & language learning
  • Unlimited AI tokens
  • AI skills development & enablement
  • Visa & permanent residence sponsorship
  • Relocation support for employees moving to New York
  • Flexible PTO (27 days, including public holidays)
  • Collaborative, in-office culture with no bureaucracy
  • Snacks, drinks, team events & more

We're not building a marketing team that follows the playbook. We're building the one people copy and study for years to come.
Jan Abaza, Founding Product Marketing Manager
