What is online business coaching?

Online business coaching is a professional service where experienced business coaches provide guidance, support, and strategies to entrepreneurs or business owners through virtual platforms. These coaching sessions typically occur via video calls, emails, or messaging, making them accessible from anywhere. The focus is on helping clients set goals, overcome challenges, and develop actionable plans to grow their businesses. Many coaches offer personalized advice, accountability, and resources to enhance business performance and personal development.

What are some common challenges faced by online business coaches, and how can they be overcome?

Online business coaches often face challenges such as building trust with clients remotely, managing time zones for global clientele, and ensuring client accountability without in-person meetings. To overcome these, coaches can leverage video conferencing tools for face-to-face interaction, use scheduling software to accommodate different time zones, and implement clear goal-setting with regular progress check-ins. Building a strong online presence and utilizing digital resources can also help establish credibility and foster lasting client relationships.

Excellent communication, active listening, and motivational skills help build rapport and drive client progress. These abilities are essential for effectively guiding clients, building trust, and delivering measurable business results in a virtual environment.

About Caring Transitions
Caring Transitions is the nation's largest and most trusted organization specializing in downsizing, relocation, estate sales, decluttering, home cleanouts, CTBids online auctions and other services. Our comprehensive menu of services supports older adults and their families through late life transitions. Serving over 450 locations across the US. Our e-commerce brand, CTBids, has nearly 1M bidders and millions of unique and everyday treasures sold through online estate sale auctions.
Recently acquired by the same entrepreneurs who transformed Backstage from a legacy print publication into a profitable digital marketplace, Caring Transitions is embarking on an exciting new chapter. You'll analyze financial and operational performance, develop strategic action plans, coach owners through challenges, and drive adoption of systems, standards, and best practices across the franchise network. In this role, you'll collaborate closely with franchise owners and cross-functional corporate teams to help improve business performance while supporting the continued growth of the Caring Transitions franchise network.
The Franchise Business Coach will report to the Director of Franchise Business Coaching.
This is a remote U.S.-based position with approximately 25-45% travel for in-person meetings, trainings, and conferences. The salary range for this position is $60,000-$70,000 base annually.
How You'll Make an Impact:
  • Partner with franchise owners in virtual and on-site sessions to understand challenges and pain points; design plans to elevate business performance, improve operational efficiency, and achieve revenue goals
  • Coach franchise owners on all aspects of their business, including operations, sales, marketing, team development, brand standards, and leadership, empowering them to build stronger, more sustainable businesses
  • Analyze financial statements, operational KPIs, and business trends to identify opportunities, develop strategic action plans, and drive measurable improvements
  • Drive adoption of Caring Transitions systems, standards, and best practices while helping franchise owners implement processes that improve efficiency and consistency
  • Build strong relationships through regular coaching calls, business reviews, field visits, and ongoing communication that fosters accountability, trust, confidence, and continuous improvement
  • Attend conferences, regional and national meetings, and other events as a Caring Transitions ambassador, representing the brand through presentations, training, and conversations with franchise candidates and new owners
  • Ensure timely payment of royalties, national branding fees, and other financial obligations
  • Partner with team members to share field insights, support strategic initiatives, and ensure franchise owners have the tools and resources they need to succeed

Who You Are:
  • You have 5+ years of experience in business coaching, franchise operations, business ownership, or multi-unit leadership with a demonstrated track record of improving business performance
  • Analytical with strong business acumen, you can translate financial statements, operational KPIs, and performance trends into actionable recommendations and strategic plans
  • An exceptional coach and relationship builder, you know how to influence, motivate, and hold others accountable while building trust and credibility
  • A confident public speaker, you are comfortable presenting to and/or training large audiences
  • High EQ; you can navigate difficult conversations and provide direct, constructive feedback with the empathy and professionalism that inspires elevation
  • Highly organized, adaptable, and self-directed, you're skilled at managing competing priorities, balancing the needs of multiple franchise owners, and adapting to changing business demands
  • Dedicated and dependable, you build trust with business partners through consistent communication, proactive problem solving, and follow-through
  • Collaborative by nature, you enjoy partnering with cross-functional teams, sharing insights, and contributing to initiatives that strengthen the overall franchise system
  • Willing and able to travel approximately 25-45% for field visits, conferences, training, and franchise support

Why Caring Transitions:

  • Access to cutting-edge tools and platforms across every department
  • Thrive in a flat structure where your voice is heard and respected
  • Grow in any direction you choose - operations, product, development, or marketing. Dream big!
  • Maintain a fair work-life balance. We cherish time with our families (fur babies included!) and encourage you to do the same
