As an online adjunct history instructor, your responsibilities are to support the faculty of a college or university and teach students about one or more aspects of history. In this role, you may help develop the syllabus and overall course outline, use a computer to manage a virtual classroom, and otherwise fulfill the job of a professor at the school. While this is an online position, you may need to work from the school—in this field, online is not the same as remote. Online adjunct history instructors often design and write tests, communicate expectations about the course, and model effective communication strategies to help students understand how to interact with the class.
