Alaska Overview
The Alaska segment primarily explores for, produces, transports and markets crude oil, natural gas and NGLs. We are the largest crude oil producer in Alaska and have major ownership interests in the Prudhoe Bay, Kuparuk and Western North Slope asset areas. Additionally, we are one of Alaska's largest owners of state, federal and fee exploration leases, with approximately one million net undeveloped acres at year-end 2025. Alaska operations contributed 12 percent of our consolidated liquids production and one percent of our consolidated natural gas production.
In 2025, net crude oil production for Alaska averaged 199 MBOED.

The Network Operations team is responsible for operating and supporting ConocoPhillips' global WAN/LAN, SD-WAN, Network Access Control (NAC), cloud networking, and other critical connectivity solutions. Through automation, data analytics, and standardized best practices, the team enables modernization, innovation, and reliable operations across the enterprise.
Position Overview
As a member of the Network Operations team, the Network Engineer is responsible for developing network architecture and standards, implementing and monitoring network infrastructure, and providing operational support for the ConocoPhillips Alaska Business Unit. This role also partners with teams across the globe to support enterprise networking initiatives and ensure secure, reliable connectivity throughout the organization.
In this position, you will play a key role in maintaining mission-critical communications across Alaska's unique and remote operating environments while helping deliver innovative networking solutions that support ConocoPhillips' global business objectives. You will work with modern networking technologies, solve complex technical challenges, and collaborate with talented professionals across multiple disciplines to drive operational excellence.

Responsibilities may include:
  • Design and develop maintainable, highly available network architectures that meet business connectivity objectives and service-level agreements (SLAs).

  • Provide technical consultation for IT projects and ensure network infrastructure is deployed in alignment with corporate standards.

  • Configure, deploy, and maintain network products, platforms, and technologies.

  • Provide day-to-day operational and technical support for the ConocoPhillips network.

  • Monitor network performance and proactively identify and resolve potential issues.

  • Maintain system software, including service packs, patches, hot fixes, and security configurations.

  • Partner with global Network Services team members to share knowledge, exchange experience, and strengthen connectivity capabilities.

  • Use analytics solutions to develop insights into ConocoPhillips' global network performance and operations.

  • Ensure compliance with information security policies, standards, and best practices.

  • Develop and maintain documentation and procedural standards for supported systems.

  • Coordinate with vendors on product upgrades, troubleshooting, and issue resolution as needed.

  • Engage in continuous learning to stay current on new and emerging networking technologies.

  • Use scripting languages such as Python and Ansible to automate network operations functions.

  • Provide Tier 2 support for voice, AV, physical security, and infrastructure services for Alaska locations.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems (MIS), or another IT/IS-related discipline.

  • CCNP or equivalent certification in routing and switching.

  • 5 or more years of experience supporting a global network environment.

  • Working knowledge of Cisco LAN, WAN, and ACI data center technologies.

  • Working knowledge of Aruba SD-WAN devices.

  • Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python and Ansible.

  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Spotfire, or similar platforms.

  • Strong technical problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly understand new concepts and apply knowledge creatively to resolve complex issues.

  • Analytical, with self-motivation and flexibility to provide after-hours support.

  • Strong communication skills when working with non-technical users.

  • Strong coordination and organizational skills.

  • Positive, motivated, adaptable, and focused approach, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
