Job description

Cyclone has new opportunities in our Casing Department. We currently have three positions open:
Casing Hand/Floorhand:
Assists casing crew with all casing tasks. Works in team environment.
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Safely assist in rigging up casing equipment
  • Safely unchains and gets the truck ready to unload
  • Safely brings handling equipment to rig floor
  • Remove hoses from power unit to take to the rig floor, transports to floor safely
  • Properly rig up the tail rope
  • Ensures work area is clean and all hazards are recognized
  • Must communicate clearly with casing supervisors
  • Safely works V-door
  • Safely throw backup tongs when needed
  • Safely assists in rigging down casing equipment
  • Properly rigs all tools for transport from walk to truck
  • Other duties as assigned by Casing Relief Operator
  • Available for 24 hours on call
  • Must live within 1 hour of the shop

CRT Technician:
Rig up and rig down casing CRT and operate in a safe manner, ensure all joints of casing are made up properly.
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and professionally with Rig and Operator personnel, complete all required paperwork (including job packets), and troubleshoot equipment on location.
  • Knowledge of Casing Running Tools and procedures
  • Connect CRT to drilling rig topdrive
  • Complete function test for CRT prior to running casing
  • Use various hand tools to make necessary adjustments or repairs to casing equipment to ensure proper function
  • Control hydraulics to secure, lift, and connect casing together
  • Work in conjunction with driller to make up casing to pipe specs and repeat until total depth is reached
  • Rig up and rig down equipment using hydraulics to maneuver and control equipment from the rig floor, the catwalk, and the transport skid
  • Disconnect CRT from Topdrive
  • Ensures work area is clean and all hazards are recognized
  • Safely works V-door
  • Safely throw backup tongs when needed
  • Available for 24 hours on call
  • Must live within 1 hour of the shop

Torque Turn Technician:
Able to monitor casing make up using TT equipment
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • This position requires the employee to understand and operate WinCATT and McCoy Torque Turn systems
  • Properly Rig up Torque Turn equipment
  • Check pipe when arrive to location and get all pipe specs from customer rep
  • Enter necessary job information into computer
  • Monitor pipe connections with Torque sub
  • Must have solid computer skills with the ability to navigate through programs and download data
  • Available for 24 hours on call
  • Must live within 1 hour of the shop
