Position Information
Job Title On-Call Law Enforcement Officer: Events Department Law Enforcement Essential Functions
Provide security for campus and community events (including dances, sporting events, camps, concerts, etc.) held on university property. Duties include, but are not limited to, patrolling on foot in and around the event (inside and/or outside) to prevent the commission of crimes and maintain order; enforce State and local laws; provide traffic direction; provide security for university properties, equipment, and/or citizens to insure a safe environment for all.
Work Schedule On Call (Hours Vary) Additional Duties
Effectively communicates with people to include conflict resolution, information gathering, and public relations. Responds to calls of assistance from the community, staff and students, and visitors. Provide assistance to other officers and necessary support to other emergency responders. Responds to calls for medical assistance, renders first aid, or arranges for emergency medical treatment.
Responds to and investigates any call for service, belated or "in progress" associated with the event assigned. Recognizes safety considerations for
responding officers and the public.
Prepares complete and concise documentation of incidents as needed.
Required Qualifications
Police officer (any rank), having local jurisdiction of Omaha / Douglas County / Bellevue / Sarpy County.
