Job description

Class Summary Job Description The HVAC Controls Tech Senior performs installation, maintenance, testing and repairing of building automation systems. The HVAC Controls Tech Senior will also investigate malfunctioning HVAC equipment and systems to determine the cause of the problems and solutions. This position may serve as a lead to staff and will coordinate work with contractors.

Essential Duties Serving as a lead to staff to include training, assigning and monitoring work, and providing instruction Observing and coordinating with contractors for installations, maintenance and minor repairs Investigating malfunctioning HVAC equipment and systems Determining cause of problems and performing efficient repairs Implementing solutions within a timely and cost-effective manner Designing, fabricating, and installing customized HVAC systems Responding to emergency calls for various types of HVAC failures Preparing records and reports Assessing and replenishing inventory of HVAC equipment and materials Providing input for annual budget preparation Other Job Requirements/Information This job is a safety sensitive position that will require a pre-employment drug test and subsequent random drug and alcohol testing. This job requires a public safety background check to include motor vehicle histories, criminal histories, and fingerprinting. This job may require on-call rotation and emergency after hours, weekends, and/or holidays.

Grade The grade for this position is C41(3). Effective 4/11/2023, this position is eligible for the Employee Referral Program. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED Six years of progressively responsible residential and commercial experience An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above will also be considered.
