Job description

CURRENT HOLLAND HOSPITAL EMPLOYEES- Please apply through Find Jobs from your Workday employee account.
Work as an extension of the department of Spiritual Care Services on nights, weekends and holidays, from 7am-11pm, to assist patients and families at the time of urgent need. To assist in managing times of crisis as well as other less urgent spiritual care needs. On-Call Chaplains may also assist Senior Chaplain and Staff Chaplains upon special request.
Minimum Education Required:
Theological Education including courses in spiritual care.
Preferred Education:
Masters of Divinity (M. Div.) or equivalency
Advanced coursework in spiritual care
Clinical Pastoral Education at an ACPE accredited site
Must be available nights and weekends.
Job Type: Limited hours (16 every two weeks)

Daily Duties
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, providing spiritual, emotional and practical support to Holland Hospital patients and their loved ones when called upon.
  • Document Spiritual Care assessment and interventions in the electronic medical records and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team.
  • When on-call, be willing and able to respond and arrive to Holland Hospital within 20-30 minutes.
  • Respond as needed and appropriate to a variety of needs, including non-emergent referrals, time-sensitive and acute needs, and Emergency Preparedness (Disaster) needs by utilizing protocols for Spiritual Care Services.
  • Participate in training sessions and events for on-call chaplains.
  • Complete required annual education and training events, including health and safety requirements.
