We're seeking a skilled individual to join our team as a Tool and Die Maker! This role involves fabricating and maintaining die components, interpreting blueprints, performing complex machining tasks (such as milling, engraving, and threading), and using precision tools like calipers and micrometers. Ideal candidates will have expertise with both manual and CNC machines, strong teamwork and independent work abilities, and a solid understanding of metal machining processes.

Requirements
We are searching for a candidate with:
  • Must have previous experience and/or ability to fabricate, repair, replace or properly install:
    • Forming or guide rolls
    • Shafts, bushings, sprockets, chains, and power transmission components
    • Guarding and related safety devices
  • Experience with both manual and CNC machining equipment
  • Must have ability to read machine blueprints and assembly drawings
  • Must have, at minimum, a basic Machinist's tool set, including calipers and micrometers.
  • Must be able to work well with others and provide project leadership on build and repair projects
  • Previous machine building experience a plus
  • Must be willing to work overtime when needed, including occasional weekends

Duties and Responsibilities
A typical day may include:
  • Possess ability to read and understand specifications such as blueprints, sketches, models, or written descriptions and determine materials required and machines to be used to fabricate parts or die components.
  • Possess tool making skills with all shop equipment (milling, lathe, precision grinding, polishing, and fitting) and able to make parts to print.
  • Possess advanced machining skills including milling, engraving, turning threads, boring holes or pockets, grinding flats, shoulders, or slots. Must be able to perform machining operations with a specified degree of accuracy and within a timely manner.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of precision measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, depth gauges, dial indicators, etc.
  • Must be able to work in small teams or independently.
  • Understand use and machining processes of a variety of different metals.
  • Possess the ability to multi-task.
  • Perform routine inspections, evaluations, and preventative maintenance of die sets. Perform additional repairs as needed.
  • Assist production set-up personnel with tooling, press machine, and roll former troubleshooting.
  • Rebuild and maintain primary roll forming, forming and ancillary equipment throughout the plant.
  • Able to reverse engineer and manufacture die components within time limitations.
