Omnichannel Cpg information

What is an omnichannel CPG professional?

An Omnichannel CPG (Consumer Packaged Goods) professional manages the strategy and execution for selling consumer goods across multiple integrated channels, such as physical stores, e-commerce platforms, and mobile apps. Their role is to ensure a seamless and consistent customer experience, regardless of how or where a customer interacts with a brand. Responsibilities often include coordinating marketing, sales, supply chain, and technology teams to optimize product availability and brand presence across all channels. Omnichannel CPG professionals analyze consumer data to tailor strategies for each channel and improve overall business performance.

How does an omnichannel CPG professional collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure a seamless customer experience?

An Omnichannel CPG professional works closely with marketing, sales, supply chain, and IT teams to align product availability, promotional strategies, and customer engagement across all channels—both online and offline. Regular meetings and shared digital tools help coordinate campaigns and inventory management, ensuring customers have a consistent and integrated experience. This collaboration is essential to quickly address challenges such as inventory discrepancies, promotional conflicts, or shifts in consumer demand. By fostering open communication, Omnichannel CPG professionals help drive unified brand messaging and operational efficiency.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an omnichannel CPG manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Omnichannel CPG Manager, you need expertise in retail strategy, data analysis, and CPG market dynamics, typically supported by a degree in business, marketing, or a related field. Familiarity with CRM platforms, e-commerce systems, and analytics tools like NielsenIQ or IRI is crucial. Strong project management, collaboration, and communication skills help drive cross-functional initiatives and build retailer relationships. These competencies are vital for seamlessly integrating online and offline channels to optimize sales and enhance the consumer experience.

Job description

Senior Staff Accountant — LOVE LLC Location: New York, NY (60 Charlton Street) — In-office

Reports to: Controller

Type: Full-time

About LOVE LOVE LLC is the company behind Be LOVE, a fast-growing functional beverage brand across Hydration, Energy, and Protein in 11,000+ doors, Amazon, and DTC. Founded by Kurt Seidensticker (founder of Vital Proteins, acquired by Nestlé), we are building the most meaningful beverage and the next category-defining CPG brand with a mission tied to GivePower's clean water initiative.

The Opportunity We are looking for a highly operational Senior Staff Accountant to be the engine of our finance team. As our Controller builds out the financial architecture of the company, you will own the daily flow of transactions, AP/AR, and month-end close support.

This isn't just a data-entry job. We are a heavy-volume, omnichannel CPG brand. You will be actively hunting down retailer chargebacks, reconciling complex co-man manufacturing yields, and using AI tools to automate the tedious parts of accounting. For the right high-motor executor, this role is designed to be groomed into an Accounting Manager as the team scales.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Accounts Payable & Expense Management

  • The Ramp Police: Manage our Ramp corporate card program. Audit hundreds of monthly T&E receipts from our 6 field marketers and ensure strict adherence to our expense policy.
  • Invoice Processing: Process high volumes of vendor bills (influencers, marketing agencies, raw material suppliers) exclusively through Ramp, ensuring proper 3-way matching with Purchase Orders.
  • Vendor Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for vendor payment inquiries, keeping relationships healthy while managing cash flow timing.

Accounts Receivable & Trade Spend Defense

  • Chargeback Hunting: Log and investigate retail deductions and distributor chargebacks (Target, UNFI, KeHE). Flag invalid shortage claims and dispute them to recover lost revenue.
  • Trade Spend Tracking: Help the Controller map retailer chargebacks to our promotional calendar to ensure our slotting fees and trade spend accruals are accurate.
  • Omnichannel Payouts: Reconcile gross sales vs. actual cash deposited from Shopify and Amazon Seller Central, accounting for platform fees and returns.

Month-End Close & General Ledger

  • Reconciliations: Perform daily and monthly bank and credit card reconciliations.
  • Manufacturing Accounting: Assist with inventory reconciliations, matching raw ingredient usage at our co-mans against finished goods received.
  • NetSuite Operations: Post daily journal entries, categorize transactions by class/department (Hydration, Energy, Protein), and assist the Controller in hitting our 10-day month-end close target.

Who You Are

  • Experience: 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience. Prior experience in CPG, retail, or manufacturing is heavily preferred.
  • Tech & AI Savvy: You have strong experience with NetSuite and Ramp. More importantly, you are an early adopter of AI. You don't want to manually code 500 transactions; you want to figure out how to write a rule or use an AI tool to do it for you.
  • High-Volume Motor: You don't get overwhelmed by a heavy inbox of invoices. You are highly organized, methodical, and move fast without dropping details.
  • Relentless Follow-Up: You aren't afraid to kindly but firmly chase down a marketing manager who forgot to submit a $5,000 event receipt.
  • No Ego: You are ready to roll up your sleeves, do the repetitive data entry correctly, and build a rock-solid foundation for the company.

What You'll Get

  • Full benefits, 401(k) match
  • Participation in the LOVE Community Incentive Plan (quarterly revenue-linked bonus pool)
  • Direct mentorship from a senior Controller and a clear, defined path for promotion to Accounting Manager as the finance team expands.
