Are you passionate about providing support and clinical services to adolescents and adults through music therapy sessions?

Join OLV Human Services as a Music Therapist! 

Pay Range: $24.00 - $38.00/hour

Responsible to: Recreation Coordinator

Job Summary:

The Music Therapist provides support and clinical services to adolescents, and adults, adjusting for the effects of age, culture, background, experience and developmental status. This employee is responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating therapeutic individual and group music therapy sessions that address the treatment needs of the client.

Essential Job Duties:

  1. Adapts lesson plans and activities to individuals’ ability and treatment needs.
  2. Ensures that appropriate supplies are available, in good working condition and are safe.
  3. Identifies and links residents with appropriate community resources.
  4. Formulates an assessment of prioritized treatment issues to be addressed (relevant to the scope and purpose of the individual’s program), based on the information gathered.
  5. Formulates a treatment plan which is written in behavioral terms, is measurable and changes over the course of treatment.
  6. Demonstrates an awareness of outside resources relevant to the population served.
  7. Implements appropriate record keeping procedures (monthly activities calendar, weekly schedule, multi-d reports, and evaluations/assessments).
  8. Assists in transporting clients as required.
  9. Follows agency guidelines.
  10. Performs all other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor.

  • New Hire Orientation
  • TCI Certification (training provided by OLV Human Services)

Physical Requirements:

  • The overall nature of the position is sedentary requiring little physical effort with occasional light physical exertion required. There is little, if any, exposure to environmental conditions
  • The constant physical demands of the position are standing and walking.
  • The frequent physical demands of the position are sitting, climbing, talking, hearing, repetitive motions, and eye/hand/foot coordination.
  • The occasional physical demands of the position are lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, balancing, stooping, crouching, reaching, handling, grasping, and feeling.
