Job Description:
The Production Operators are responsible for tending to production machinery that processes peanuts.


Primary Responsibilities:
 Assist the production line by starting and shutdown of various processing equipment, setting operating equipment controls of equipment and adjusting settings to meet customer specifications of product
 Perform quality checks throughout the shift to determine accuracy of control settings and to determine if customer specifications are met. Changes may be necessary by opening and closing valves, turning knobs to adjust settings to bring product into the specifications required by customer.
 Record process data accurately and in a timely manner per specification time tables for each lot processed. Legible handwriting and ability to perform basic math functions are necessary.
 Main records in a clean, neat and legible manner for each lot processed.
 Clean area of responsibility and equipment in areas throughout shift and ensure that area is clean at shift change
 Inspects product rejections and samples to ensure product is produced is per customer specification
 Notify Senior Processing Tech or Shift Supervisors of any equipment shut downs or any problems with the quality of processed or produced product.
 Responsible for helping to ensure product meets or exceeds customer specification.
 Responsible for alerting Shift Supervisor if other essential functions performed by other employees are not being carried out.
 This employee is subject to work in outside environmental conditions and around fumes, odors, dusts and mists. They will be subject to hazards such as working around moving mechanical parts, and exposure to chemicals on a regular basis.
 While performing these duties, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger to handle/feel or pull, reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk and hear. You will occasionally lift and/or move heavy equipment or parts, 40 to 50 lbs. unassisted, or assist others in moving, shifting, or positioning heavier objects.
 All employees are directly responsible for the Quality of Olam Edible Nuts products. Each employee must perform their job function in accordance to the GMP Rules and the Sanitation, Safety and FMSA/HACCP Programs.
 Must follow safe work practices and comply with all company, federal and state rules and regulations which apply to the job, including but not limited to, right to Know, emergency evacuation, electrical safety, confined space, blood borne pathogens, and lockout/tagout.
Preferred Qualifications:
 High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one year related experience and/or training preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
 Ability to read, write and perform basic math functions. Understand written and oral communications and instructions. Initiative and self-starting ability is important
