Job description

Position Summary: The Ocean Course Cottage Attendant will be responsible for the daily cleaning of The Ocean Course Clubhouse, as well as, the daily performance of departure cleaning and guest arrival preparation/inspection of The Ocean Course Cottages. Duties also include concierge services, placing amenities in the Cottages, ensuring that items ordered by guests are in the Cottages prior to arrivals. A strong attention to detail, guest focus, and communication is critical to this position.

 

Pay Rate: The rate of pay listed on job boards are auto-generated numbers. Kiawah Island Golf Resort’s actual rate of pay will be determined during the hiring process.

Qualifications: 

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Computer fluency is required.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle. Use of your own vehicle is required.
  • Ability to lift a maximum of 50 lbs.
  • Ability to follow directions, perform tasks with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, and follow-through.
  • Ability to work without direct supervision.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team, set-up and organize work areas with designated equipment.
  • Report any faulty equipment, maintenance needs, safety hazards, etc.

 

Expectations & Responsibilities:

  • Clean The Ocean Course Cottages, including, but not limited to, making beds, cleaning bathrooms, dusting and vacuuming.
  • Change and replenish bed linens, towels and guest amenities, as needed.
  • Perform deep cleaning tasks, as needed.
  • Stock, maintain, and transport housekeeping supply cart on a daily basis as well as maintain linen storage for the Cottages. Deliver meals to cottages, breakfast and sometimes other meals.
  • Responsible for placing personalized amenities in Cottages for arrivals.
  • Ensure that all pre-ordered food, beverage, and other items are stocked for guests.
  • Ability to take all requests, take ownership of the requests and ensure the tasks are completed.
  • Remain alert, courteous and helpful to the guests and co-workers at all times.
  • Should be articulate and personable in interaction with the high-end clientele.
  • Ensure all storage areas are clean and well maintained with all cleaning equipment and supplies.
  • Maintain established cleaning/cleanliness procedures in all public spaces in The Ocean Course Clubhouse (restrooms, locker rooms, lobby, function spaces).
  • Clean multiple common areas in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Ensure that restrooms are maintained and refreshed with supplies on a continuous basis. 
  • Document maintenance requests on a daily basis for Cottages and The Ocean Course Clubhouse.
  • Dispose of trash and recyclables.
  • Replenish cutlery & kitchen equipment in Cottages, as needed & inventory for Cottages.
  • Must be efficient on computers and be able to send e-mails and learn computer systems for food and beverage, front desk and golf tee-times
  • Must be able to speak with guests and e-mail with them to have their requests and customize their visit as well as e-mail internal departments and shift reports.
  • All other duties, as assigned.

 

Essential Physical Requirements:

  •  Must be able to lift minimum weight of 50 lbs. across short-medium distances.
  • Must be able to stand for the entirety of shift while reaching, bending and stooping.
  • Must be able to work on site due to daily needs of the job requirements. 
  • Ability to reach, bend, lift, and carry furniture and equipment.
