Job description

Sr Material Coord-O&G

The Sr Material Coord-O&G will oversee the day-to-day operations of material availability status for 5 offshore locations. They will be responsible for measuring material availability to ensure it is within contractually agreed upon parameters, and provide support with customer assets/areas. In order to do this effectively, they will be a part of the customer’s “Maintenance squad”, serving as the focal point for material statuses. This position will manage the performance of the team reporting to them, and serve as backup for the supervisor.

Your role on the team:

  • Creates a working environment that assures the Health and Safety (H&S) of workers in the Operations MC team, including identification and management of occupational risk
  • Manage material coordination policies and procedures and work to improve efficiency and productivity
  • Ensure the management of material availability region wide is held to percentage agreed between GEODIS and the customer
  • Personnel Management and transparent relay of important role specific information including, but not limited to, vacation/ out of office coverage and training/ certification requirements
  • Ensure the steady flow of materials necessary for operations; help ensure adequate supply without over-ordering or wasting resources
  • Manage the supply of products to internal customers, ensuring adequate materials to support steady production.
  • Monitor materials flow to identify bottlenecks and forecast opportunities for improvement
  • Observe trends and customer requests to create and maintain maintenance schedules, ensuring the correct material is always available
  • Continuously improve use of ERP systems in order to have better visibility of materials required to support projects/ operations
  • Cross functional coordination to ensure smooth support of the function and BP assets
  • Work with ILVC to handle expediting, shipping, and processing internal customer shipment inquiries
  • Act as liaison between Operations / Projects and other departments to determine timelines and necessary materials
  • Travel as needed to meet with team or visit customer facility
  • As required and assigned
  • Supports GEODIS’ programs for Safety, Health, Environment, Quality , Ethics, Compliance, CSR and Sustainability

What you need: (requirements)

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain or a related field preferred
  • 5 years experience as a supervisor or relevant role in Material Coordination and/or Supply Chain related field
  • 3+ years working specifically in a material coordination field
  • Oil and Gas experience preferred
  • SAP experience preferred. Specifically Material Management related
  • Inventory Control Experience
  • Experience in Process Improvement implementation
  • Experience with SAP IT system
  • Ability to effectively communicate with leaders at multiple levels internally, as well as with customer management
  • Basic knowledge of demand planning and maintenance scheduling, as it relates to materials fulfillment and supply chain
  • Basic theoretical knowledge of shipping/receiving and warehousing operations
  • Working knowledge of Materials Management systems (SAP) & processes, MS Microsoft Office 365 applications, and Microsoft Teams
  • Excellent time management skills; ability to prioritize, schedule, set and meet goals
  • Self-starter and excellent organization skills to be able to handle multiple activities
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to improve and learn
  • Accountability and ownership to complete commitments on time sensitive timelines
  • Familiarity with industry specific equipment and operations
