Job description

Overview of the Position:

Assist in the reverse engineering and drawing creation of FAA approved aftermarket aircraft parts by using a variety of precision measurement tools and methods, and providing feedback and recommendations to engineers regarding part features, drawing layout and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) usage.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Competently use a variety of metrology inspection tools to assist in the reverse engineering of aircraft parts
  • Use 3D CAD software to develop/interpret drawings and scans
  • Perform special projects or assignment to support department
  • Manage time effectively and consistently meet task deadlines
  • Create dimensional data reports in Excel
  • Collaborate closely with engineering and metrology groups to ensure department goals are achieved
  • Mentor and assist in training of Engineering interns
  • Operate OGP Starlite, optical comparator, and height gage
