Job Summary

We are seeking a Metrology Technician with hands-on experience in dimensional inspection and metrology equipment. The ideal candidate will have experience programming OGP SmartScope systems, operating Keyence optical profilometers, interpreting GD&T drawings, and performing precision measurements in a regulated manufacturing or laboratory environment, preferably within the medical device industry.

Required Experience

  • 1+ year of experience programming Vision Inspection Systems (OGP SmartScope)
  • 1+ year of experience using Keyence Optical Profilometers
  • Metrology laboratory experience preferred

Must-Have Technical Skills

  • Contact and non-contact metrology inspection
  • OGP SmartScope advanced programming
  • Keyence optical profilometer operation
  • Blueprint reading with GD&T
  • Optical comparators and digital microscopes
  • White light scanning systems  
  • Hand gauges, micrometers, and calipers

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Perform dimensional inspections of medical devices and components using contact and non-contact metrology equipment.
  • Collaborate with engineers to understand measurement requirements and recommend appropriate inspection techniques.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints, including GD&T specifications.
  • Develop and execute advanced inspection programs using OGP SmartScope systems.
  • Collect dimensional data using optical comparators, digital microscopes, white light scanners, and precision hand gauges.
  • Analyze and interpret measurement data to troubleshoot issues and recommend practical solutions.  
  • Handle biohazardous materials in accordance with established safety procedures, when required.  
  • Perform additional metrology laboratory support duties as assigned.
