Job description

Operating from the Jenks, Oklahoma facility are the Tulsa Winch, Rufnek, Greer, dp Winch and Gear Products brands with Pullmaster and LANTEC brands operating from the Surrey, British Columbia, Canada.

The products and solutions produced by TWG find their way into diverse applications including onshore oil and gas, the utility industry, commercial and governmental towing and recovery, construction and offshore cranes, marine applications including fishing and cargo handling, forestry and mining applications and a myriad of other construction applications.

This position is responsible to design new products and make improvements to existing products for TWG.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Plans and designs mechanical, electromechanical, and hydraulic systems and products.
  • Designs products and systems such as winches, winch systems, winch accessories, truck mounted equipment, hydraulic systems and parts
  • Designs products and systems using common machine design elements, hydraulics, brakes, clutches, gear design, castings, fabrications and machined parts.
  • Creates and modifies 3-D CAD models, drawings and Bills of Material as needed
  • Reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, industry standards, and customer requirements.
  • Computes magnitude, direct and point of application of tension, compression and bending forces and develops geometric shapes of machine parts to accommodate operating loads.
  • Compiles and or analyzes test data to determine effect of design on machine in relation to such factors as temperature, pressure, volumes, speed, tension and horsepower.
  • Provides direction and conducts test engineering to validate new designs.
  • Other essential duties may be assigned as required.
  • Assists in reviews / approvals of drawings, models, standard compliance as assigned. Other essential duties may be assigned as required.
  • May approve drawings, and/or approve ECO's under direction of Project Engineer, Chief Engineer, or Director Innovation.
  • This position is also responsible for, with authority to follow ISO procedures, initiate action to prevent problems, document quality problems, contribute to problem solutions, verify implementation of solutions, control further processing when a problem is identified, protect the environment, including preventing pollution, analyzing or identifying areas for correction or improvement.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Required:
  • Bachelors' degree in engineering with 3+ years related successful experience; or combination of education and experience.
  • Intermediate experience with, Mechanical systems and elements, Design analysis of systems and components, 3-D CAD systems and drawings procedures, Integrating electronics and software with mechanical elements, Design of experiments.
  • Must be able to travel as required and /or directed.
Preferred: Working
  • knowledge of mobile equipment, cranes, winches, hoists, and geared machinery.
  • Hydraulics system design and project management experience.
