Job description

Sante Health System is looking to hire a Full Time and Part Time Front Office Scheduler to join our medical office team at, Central Valley Women's Health Associates (CVWHA).This position is is responsible for answering income calls and scheduling/rescheduling patient appointments, in an efficient and timely manner.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year work experience as a Receptionist, Front Office Representative or similar role in a medical setting.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and computer experience, preferably Medical Manager Software
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Hands-on experience with office equipment (e.g. fax machines and printers)
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Professional attitude and appearance with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationship with patients, employees and the public
PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of medical office procedures including surgery procedures and practices.
  • Knowledge of interrelationship of surgery department with laboratory and radiology.
  • Knowledge of grammar, spelling and punctuation to type patient information.
  • Skill in operating a computer, photocopy machine, fax and other office equipment.
  • Skill in answering the telephone in a pleasant and helpful manner.
  • Ability to speak clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions.

  1. Schedules and reschedules patient day-to-day appointments.
  2. Answers all incoming phone calls related to appointments/reschedules.
  3. Obtain the insurance verification and authorization for appointments.
  4. Contacts patients for any changes to schedule/appointment.
  5. Check in patients.
  6. Collect and distribute all incoming faxes.
  7. Check out and make future appointments for patients.
  8. Function as relief for other personnel in office as appropriate and to facilitate coworker's taking time out of the
  9. Work in a cooperative and professional manner with physician and coworkers
