Senior Consultant - ERP Selection & Business Transformation Position Overview
  • Guides mid-market manufacturing and distribution clients through ERP selection, business process improvement, and implementation using Ultra Consultants’ proven methodology and service offerings, serving as both a hands‑on practitioner and a trusted advisor.
  • Brings deep supply chain, operations, and process-manufacturing expertise to identify client needs, risks, and opportunities and to help clients improve business performance and realize measurable time‑to‑benefit.
Key Responsibilities Client Engagement & Strategic Advisory
  • Partner with practice leaders, client services managers, and senior managers to lead client engagements as a trusted advisor.
  • Lead client discussions, workshops, and transformation initiatives that drive progress and measurable business value; advise clients on ERP selection, future‑state operating models, business process improvement, and supply chain and operations strategy.
  • Develop strategic roadmaps and recommendations; identify risks, dependencies, and opportunities related to process readiness and system fit; and build strong relationships across the client organization and with software vendors and implementation partners.
ERP Selection & Transformation Delivery
  • Lead engagements across Ultra’s core value streams — business process improvement, ERP/technology selection, and implementation management.
  • Conduct current‑state assessments and facilitate requirements definition, value‑stream mapping, and future‑state process design across business processes, supply chain, operations, and shop‑floor and warehouse workflows.
  • Lead structured software selection, vendor demonstrations, and fit/gap analysis across leading platforms such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Infor, NetSuite, Acumatica, and Odoo.
  • Guide implementation planning and oversight with ERP vendors and client teams — spanning MRP, WMS, TMS, and related modules — including project planning, status reporting, issue tracking, and execution oversight.
Deliverables, Practice Development & Collaboration
  • Create and maintain high‑quality client deliverables — presentations, process documentation, project plans, dashboards, and executive communications — and clearly communicate status, recommendations, and risks to client leadership.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of Ultra’s methodologies, tools, and best practices, applying Lean and continuous‑improvement principles; collaborate across Ultra’s ERP, data management, AI readiness, and business process improvement teams.
  • Mentor consultants, support internal knowledge sharing, and contribute to business development by identifying follow‑on opportunities; perform additional duties as needed to support client and organizational objectives.
Required Qualifications
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in supply chain, operations, or ERP and business transformation, including senior leadership or senior consulting roles.
  • Demonstrated experience leading ERP selection and/or implementation projects in manufacturing or distribution environments.
  • Deep knowledge of end‑to‑end supply chain and operations — sales & operations planning, demand planning, strategic sourcing, inventory, warehousing, transportation, distribution, and customer service.
  • Hands‑on expertise with ERP and supply chain systems, including MRP, WMS, and TMS modules across leading ERP platforms.
  • Strong command of process improvement methodologies, including Lean Manufacturing, value‑stream mapping, and continuous improvement.
  • Excellent analytical, facilitation, written and verbal communication, and client‑relationship skills; proficiency in MS Office and modern cloud‑based collaboration and performance‑dashboard tools.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in process manufacturing verticals such as food & beverage, consumer goods, nutraceuticals/pharma, chemical, or plastics.
  • Background in 3rd‑party logistics (3PL) and multi‑site, cross‑border operations across the US, Canada, and Mexico.
  • Experience bringing organizations into compliance (e.g., SOX inventory and order‑management reporting).
  • Familiarity with AI readiness, analytics, or automation initiatives.
  • Certifications in ERP, supply chain, project management, or Lean.
Work Environment
  • Professional home office suitable for remote client interaction.
  • Frequent travel (up to 50%) to domestic client locations, with occasional international travel as needed.
