Job description


A well-established commercial construction management and general contractor is seeking a Superintendent / Senior Superintendent to join its field leadership team. This opportunity is open to either a proven Superintendent who can confidently lead day-to-day field operations or a more experienced Senior Superintendent who has successfully managed larger, more complex commercial projects.


With a long-standing presence in the market and a steady pipeline of work, this company offers the opportunity to join a respected builder known for quality execution, stability, and long-term growth. Projects are primarily located throughout Long Island with additional projects across the greater NYC metro area depending on assignment.


Position Overview

The Superintendent/Senior Superintendent will be responsible for managing field operations from project startup through completion, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily field operations on assigned commercial construction projects
  • Manage subcontractors, vendors, manpower, and site logistics
  • Drive schedule performance and maintain project progress in the field
  • Enforce safety protocols and maintain OSHA compliance
  • Coordinate inspections and oversee quality control throughout construction
  • Review plans, specifications, and field conditions
  • Maintain daily reports and jobsite documentation
  • Lead subcontractor and foreman coordination meetings
  • Prepare and manage 3-week look-ahead schedules
  • Coordinate closely with Project Managers, architects, engineers, and ownership teams
  • Identify and help resolve field issues in real time


Qualifications

  • Experience as a Superintendent, Lead Superintendent, or Senior Superintendent
  • Strong background in commercial construction
  • Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
  • OSHA training/certification required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and construction-focused software


Compensation & Benefits

  • $90,000–$225,000 base salary depending on experience and level
