What is a typical day like for an NYC Pooch Dog Walker?
Our Route Walkers generally work from 10am-6pm Monday through Friday. They are assigned to one specific area and usually walk the same dogs each day, forming a bond with each pup, and building a great rapport with each client.

Applicants must have the following availability: Monday - Friday, 10AM - 6PM, and must be able to commit for at least 8 months.

Why work with us vs. a national Uber-style app?

  • Work in one designated neighborhood.
  • Professional paid training.
  • Local NYC- based company since 2002.
  • Get real support from our managers and senior staff.

  • Communicate clearly with management regarding the dogs' behavior and health.
  • Utilize animal handling skills to maintain control and ensure a positive experience for pets.
  • Upload photos and create comprehensive service reports after each walk

  • You must be able to navigate through the cityscape, including sidewalks, pathways, and stairs, as well as crossing roads and intersections with city traffic while keeping dogs safe.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • 18 years or older
  • Must have a smartphone and a portable phone charger.
  • Punctual and Detail Oriented with excellent time management skills.
  • Must love dogs with an understanding and willingness to learn about their care.
  • Have a good understanding of transit logistics and time management in the city.
  • Able to keep up with the physical demands of being on your feet and walking for much of the day.
  • Able to cope with inclement weather. (rain, snow, cold, or heat wave, we walk through it all)
  • Comfortable with dogs of all shapes, sizes, and temperaments.
  • Patience with all sorts of doggy antics and behavior issues.
  • Honest and hardworking, with a strong work ethic.
  • A strong oral and written communicator.
  • Upbeat and personable, with a warm and caring personality.
How Do I Apply?
  • Reply to this post with a current resume.
  • Make sure to provide a direct email where we can reach you.
  • Please include a cover letter telling us a little about yourself, your experience with dogs, your availability, and why you would be a great fit for this position.
