Job description

Private family seeks an experienced, nurturing, and dependable Weekend Nanny to provide attentive care for their one-year-old child. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on infant and toddler experience and possess a genuine passion for supporting a child's growth, development, and daily well-being. This role requires a patient, caring, and highly responsible professional who can confidently manage all aspects of childcare while maintaining a safe, engaging, and loving environment.

The schedule will consist of approximately 16 hours per weekend, generally divided into two 8-hour shifts on Saturdays and Sundays. Flexibility is essential, as hours may vary from daytime coverage to afternoon and evening shifts extending until approximately 9:00 PM based on the family's needs. While the position is primarily based at the family's primary residence, occasional weekend support at the family's Hamptons residence may be required. Private accommodations will be provided during Hamptons weekends when applicable.

The successful candidate will be seeking a long-term position and will demonstrate stability in prior employment, excellent childcare instincts, and a proactive approach to supporting both the child and household. In addition to providing exceptional childcare, the nanny will assist with light household upkeep and child-related meal preparation during nap times, contributing to the overall smooth operation of the home.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Provide attentive, loving, and developmentally appropriate care for a one-year-old child
• Manage all daily childcare routines including feeding, diapering, bathing, dressing, and nap schedules
• Maintain a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment at all times
• Engage the child in age-appropriate educational, developmental, and recreational activities
• Monitor developmental milestones and communicate observations to parents as appropriate
• Prepare healthy meals and snacks for the child as needed
• Maintain organization of nursery, toys, clothing, and child-related items
• Accompany family to the Hamptons residence on occasion as needed
• Communicate openly and professionally with parents regarding the child's daily activities and well-being
• Additional childcare responsibilities as needed and requested
• Assist with light housekeeping and household organization during the child's nap times
• Clean and sanitize child-related areas, toys, bottles, and feeding equipment
• Support overall household tidiness to ensure a clean and organized environment
• Assist with grocery organization and child-related household inventory as needed
• Additional household support duties as needed and requested

Requirements:

• Excellent references from both current and former employers
• Strong command of the English language with exceptional verbal communication skills
• Minimum of 5+ years of professional nanny experience with infants and toddlers required
• Extensive hands-on experience with diapering, feeding, bathing, sleep routines, and developmental care for young children
• Demonstrated longevity and stability in prior positions; candidates with a history of frequent job changes will not be considered
• Warm, patient, nurturing, and genuinely child-focused demeanor
• Highly responsible, trustworthy, honest, and dependable
• Strong understanding of age-appropriate child development and early childhood milestones
• Ability to take initiative and work independently while respecting parental preferences and routines
• Detail-oriented, organized, and proactive
• High level of discretion, professionalism, and commitment to confidentiality
• Comfortable assisting with light housekeeping and household support duties
• Valid Driver's License preferred
• Able to legally work within the United States for any employer

Compensation: $40–$45 Hourly
