Job description

An active NYC based family is seeking a nurturing Weekend Nanny for their children. The ideal candidate will be energetic and have a natural rapport with adolescent children. Candidates must be comfortable driving in NYC, and accompanying the children to and from sports practices, games, and other extracurricular activities. The weekend schedule is 10-12 hours on Saturday and 10-12 hours on Sunday. There's an opportunity for additional days/hours during the week supporting the family with Assistant duties.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Foster a warm, safe, engaging, and structured environment
  • Provide attentive, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate care for children
  • Confidently manage children together with calmness and consistency
  • Follow daily routines with strong attention to detail
  • Engage children in age-appropriate activities, outdoor play, and enrichment
  • Transport children to and from school, activities, and appointments
  • Support children's organization, including bedrooms, play areas, and belongings
  • Children's laundry and light household organization (pantry, children's spaces, general upkeep during downtime)
  • Maintain open, respectful, and direct communication with parents
  • Work collaboratively with existing staff
  • Additional childcare related responsibilities as needed

Requirements:

  • Excellent references required from both current and previous employers
  • Fluent in English, superb communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a team, as well as individually as a self-starter
  • Exceptional organizational skills and dedication to responsibilities
  • Poised and professional; always use of utmost discretion and confidentiality
  • Confident swimmer: willing and able to swim with children as needed
  • Valid Driver's License and a clean driving record; REQUIRED
  • Legally able to work in the United States
