Job description

hackajob is collaborating with Babylist to connect them with exceptional professionals for this role.

Who We Are

Babylist is the leading platform for expecting and new families — and our showrooms in Beverly Hills and NYC are where that mission comes to life in person. Since opening in 2023, we've welcomed thousands of families to explore gear, build registries, and feel truly supported. The people who work in our showrooms are the face of that experience. If you love creating meaningful moments and want to be part of something that actually matters to the families you serve, this is the team.

Our Ways of Working

This is a fully on-site role at our New York City showroom. Please apply directly through this posting — to protect the guest experience, we ask that you don't call, email, or visit the showroom with hiring inquiries. Thanks for keeping things smooth!

What the Role Is

Babylist is the leading digital destination for growing families, and our New York showroom is where that magic comes to life in person. We're looking for motivated Showroom Hosts to help create a memorable and joyful experience for expecting parents and their loved ones. You'll play an essential role in helping guests build their registry, discover the best baby products, and feel genuinely cared for from start to finish. This role reports to the Showroom Manager and works closely with the rest of the NY Showroom team.

A few things to know upfront:

  • We're hiring for our New York location, opening this fall in SoHo
  • We're hosting a career fair on July 21st â€” strong applicants  will be invited to attend
  • Target start date is August 10th
  • There is a mandatory training period from August 31st through September 24th with no time off during this window. We want to be fully transparent about this before you apply.

Who You Are

  • You have a minimum 2 years of experience in a retail or guest service role
  • You are highly motivated and exude an energetic, friendly, and upbeat attitude
  • You have a passion to deliver the very best in customer experience and do so by creating genuine and warm connections
  • You work well with others and believe in the power of teamwork and collaboration
  • You have excellent communication skills both internally with teammates and externally with guests
  • You thrive in a dynamic environment and can manage multiple tasks
  • You have strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • You are flexible with availability and open to working varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Weekend availability is required
  • You are able to lift and carry 25-30 lbs, and able to stand 8-10 hours

How You Will Make An Impact

  • Be a Babylist ambassador by delivering exceptional service and helping guests navigate the showroom experiences
  • Answer guest questions and help them select and register for products by listening to their needs and leveraging product knowledge
  • Participate in ongoing training and education to maintain knowledge of product features, benefits, and safety guidelines
  • Support the guest experience as needed with retail systems and tools, and knowledge on Babylist registries
  • Assist in showroom operations such as pop-ups, events,  inventory receiving, visual merchandising and upkeep of showroom maintenance (eg. cleaning/janitorial duties)
  • Meet and exceed  goals and performance metrics, like guest satisfaction  and product knowledge proficiency
  • Collaborate with the Showroom team on ways to constantly improve the Babylist showroom experience
  • Support Babylist content and social media team (if applicable)

Why This Role

  • You'll be part of building something new — the NY showroom is just getting started, and you'll help shape what it becomes
  • Babylist has a real mission: helping families navigate one of the most exciting and overwhelming moments of their lives
  • This is a hands-on role with variety — no two shifts look the same
  • You'll be surrounded by a team that cares about doing the job well and actually likes working together
