Job description

Posting Date: June 10, 2026
Position: Nutrition Services Assistant (6 hours per day)
Location: Richardson Elementary School
Schedule: 9 months, 5 days per week.
Salary and Benefits: Per Nutrition Services labor agreement _ district website at www.isd622.org
Academic year position responsible for providing support in all aspects of preparing and serving school meals, meeting and maintaining Nutrition Services policies, including sanitation and safety standards.   Function as a cashier as assigned. Enter temperatures on temperature sheets, enter food used on the pick list, and provide assistance to the Kitchen Manager as requested.  Provide assistance in cooking, cleaning, washing dishes, cleaning spills as needed, taking inventory or any other duty as assigned





Job Requirements:

  1. Good organizational and mathematical skills.
  2. Ability to follow direction.
  3. Pleasant personality
  4. Ability to work well with students, staff, and parents.
  5. Food Service experience.
  6. Ability to work with computers or willingness to learn.
  7. High school diploma or equivalent.
  8. Attain certification with School Nutrition Association within one year of employment.
  9. Cashiering ability.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to pass background check and physical
  • Good physical health including the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Constant hand-eye and mind-eye coordination, standing and walking.
  • Repetitive motion with wrists, hands and fingers.
  • Frequent bending, carrying, hearing, lifting and stooping.
  • Occasional climbing and crawling.
  • Standing for long periods of time as well as stooping, squatting, lifting, carrying, pushing and climbing.
