Job description

Description:
Effective immediately the Child Nutrition Office will accept applications for the above Cashier/Kitchen Assistant position.  The salary range for this position is $19.24 $22.03/hr based on the 2026-2027 salary schedule between ISD #197 and SEIU Local #284.
Hours:  7:30 AM - 2:00 PM  (6 hours per day w/ 30 minute unpaid break)
Job Summary:




  • Assist in forecasting daily meal needs and communicates accordingly with person in charge.
  • Assist with preparing and serving meals for students, staff and special functions.
  • Effectively operates the Point of Sale System, handles money, and prepares bank deposits.
  • Ensures that each reimbursable meal sold meets USDA requirements.
  • Performs a variety of kitchen cleaning duties.
  • Assist with setting up serving line and serves meals according to meal patterns.
  • Projects a positive & professional image of themselves, their school and the Child Nutrition Program to all
    customers, staff and parents.

Must be able to work as a team member willing to perform any duties assigned to make the department run
smoothly and may be requested to work at another location.
