How much do nurse manager jobs pay per hour?
What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a nurse manager?
What is the difference between Nurse Manager vs Nurse Supervisor?
| Aspect | Nurse Manager | Nurse Supervisor |
|---|---|---|
| Credentials | RN license, often with leadership or management certification | RN license, may have leadership training |
| Work Environment | Oversees entire nursing units, manages staff, budgets, and policies | Supervises nursing staff directly, ensures daily operations |
| Responsibilities | Strategic planning, staff development, policy implementation | Staff scheduling, performance oversight, daily patient care supervision |
While both roles require RN licensure and leadership skills, Nurse Managers focus on strategic management and policy, whereas Nurse Supervisors handle daily staff supervision and operational tasks. The Nurse Manager role is broader, often involving administrative duties, while Nurse Supervisors are more hands-on with staff and patient care.
