We are a 67-Bed Progressive Care Unit Adult Medicine & Specialties
Our Progressive Care Unit cares for a diverse adult patient population requiring an elevated level of monitoring and nursing expertise. Nurses on this unit develop strong critical-thinking skills while caring for patients across multiple specialties, making this an excellent environment for growth and skill advancement.
Patient populations and clinical experiences include:
- AdultMedicine, Surgical, Cardiac, Neurology, and GIpatients
- Patients withICDs, Permanent Pacemakers (PPMs), and Life Vests
- Post-pericardial window,chest tubes, andPleurX catheters
- CIWAmonitoring and management
- Neurologic patients, includingNIHSS stroke scaleassessments andQ2 neuro checks
- Ventilator patients with tracheostomies
- New or continuous, hemodynamically stable BiPAP patients
- CAPD patientswith cardiac conditions requiring PCU level of care

Qualifications
- Effective June 1, 2025, a bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) Required.
- Two years of clinical experience Required.
- Participation in leadership activities (Unit, hospital, or system Shared Governance meetings, Precepting, Charge nurse role) Preferred.
- MI Registered Nurse (RN) Required.
- AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required.
