Pinterest is looking for a Sr. Director, Corporate Communications to lead the team shaping how our business, leadership and long-term trajectory are understood by investors, policymakers, advertisers, media and the broader market. This leader will oversee corporate, financial, ads and monetization, executive, and policy communications, and will play a central role in protecting and strengthening Pinterest’s reputation at pivotal company moments. Reporting to the Chief Communications Officer, this person will be a trusted thought partner and operator — translating communications priorities into a clear, integrated strategy and leading execution across high-stakes business, financial and reputational moments.

What you’ll do:
  • Lead and develop a high-performing corporate communications organization with clear goals, strong accountability and a culture of excellence.
  • Translate the CCO’s company-wide communications vision into an integrated corporate communications strategy, ensuring coherence and alignment across all practice areas and connecting the corporate pillar to the broader communications agenda.
  • Lead Pinterest’s financial communications strategy, partnering closely with the CFO and Investor Relations team to shape the company’s financial narrative, earnings approach and engagement with financial media.
  • Lead the Ads & Monetization communications practice, setting the narrative vision for Pinterest’s advertising platform and driving strategies that resonate with brands, agencies and the trade press.
  • Lead the executive communications practice, setting the strategic messaging framework for Pinterest’s senior leaders and serving as a senior editorial partner on the highest-stakes content and moments.
  • Provide strategic oversight for trust, safety and policy communications, ensuring clear and credible external narratives on platform safety, content governance, and related legislative and regulatory issues in close partnership with Product, Legal and Policy teams.
  • Serve as the CCO’s primary partner on corporate reputation, issues management and crisis communications—leading the team’s response and ensuring the CCO has the intelligence and strategic options needed to make critical decisions on high-stakes matters.
  • Work with the CCO to establish measurement frameworks across the full communications portfolio, using data and reporting to demonstrate impact and continuously refine strategy.
  • Leverage AI-enabled tools and workflows to accelerate market intelligence, briefing development, monitoring and strategic recommendations — while applying strong judgment and maintaining accountability for accuracy, nuance and decision-making.
What we’re looking for:
  • 15+ years of experience in corporate communications or a related field, with significant experience at a publicly traded technology company.
  • 5+ years leading communications teams, including direct experience managing other managers and building high-performing organizations.
  • Deep experience in financial and investor relations communications at a public company, including earnings cycle management, financial narrative development and media relations with the financial press.
  • Experience developing B2B communications strategies for advertising, monetization or revenue-focused audiences, including engagement with the trade press.
  • Deep experience advising senior leaders through high-stakes reputational issues, sensitive announcements and crisis communications.
  • Proven track record building and overseeing executive communications programs for C-suite leaders, including speeches, presentations, op-eds and thought leadership content.
  • Experience in trust & safety and policy communications, with the ability to guide teams in translating complex technical, legislative and regulatory matters into clear, compelling narratives for diverse audiences.
  • Experience using AI tools to improve the speed, quality and insight of communications work, paired with strong judgment and accountability for accuracy, nuance and final outputs.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or equivalent experience.
