JOB TITLE: Logistician
JOB LOCATION: Crane, IN, US
BACKGROUND: Global Engineering's (GXP) mission is to provide electrical, electronic, and design engineering, software engineering, acquisition, development, production, test and evaluation, integrated logistics support, reliability, maintenance, and sustainment functions for a variety of platform, launch, and missile systems, as well as transportation equipment, test facilities, and shelters. These systems and equipment are supported by various customers. The fire control systems, navigation systems, launcher systems, missiles and missile support equipment are under the cognizance of the Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) Technical Branches. These technical branches are SP22, Launcher; SP23, Fire Control and Guidance; SP24, Navigation; SP27, TRIDENT Missile; and SP2012, System Integration.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Provide inventory management, logistics coordination, receiving, storage, shipping, excess/disposal, documentation, and government data system support for Test, Measurement and Diagnostics Equipment (TMDE) and Fire Control portable computing devices (PCDs). Coordinate with branch personnel, Logistics Lead, Organizational Material Administrator (OMA), security personnel, transportation, local property offices, DLA, NAVICP, ITD, and program participants to maintain accurate accountability, timely processing, safe work areas, and compliant logistics operations.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Duties include, but are not limited to:
TMDE Inventory Management (50%)
• Inspect, receive, handle, and store Test, Measurement and Diagnostics Equipment (TMDE); coordinate with branch personnel and the Organizational Material Administrator (OMA) on all incoming equipment and materials; assist with resolution of damaged and/or misdirected TMDE; apply labels to TMDE as directed.
• Maintain records and logbooks for receipts; provide status reports and metrics on incoming receipts as needed.
• Ensure TMDE is received in a timely manner and work areas are maintained in a clean, safe, and orderly manner.
• Inspect, receive, and track the condition of shipping containers; coordinate refurbishment of shipping containers; provide status reports on shipping containers as needed.
• Pull TMDE from storage or staging areas to inspect, package, and ship; prepare shipment documents and packing lists; apply and/or remove labels from TMDE as directed; coordinate shipment quality assurance with branch personnel; coordinate shipments with NSLC/transportation.
• Maintain records and logbooks for shipments; provide status reports and metrics on outgoing shipments as needed.
• Monitor TMDE in loaned status and assist with coordinating return of loaned equipment as directed; prepare documentation for loaned TMDE.
• Monitor, review, and complete replenishment requests for TMDE as directed; notify branch personnel when inventory shortages are obvious.
• Coordinate TMDE to be excessed or disposed with branch personnel; inspect, pull, and stage TMDE for excess/disposal; prepare documentation for TMDE to be excessed; coordinate with local property office, DLA, and/or NAVICP to disposition TMDE; coordinate with program participants to transfer custody of TMDE as directed.
• Investigate and correct any errors identified during physical inventories; prepare reports for physical inventories; ensure 98% inventory accuracy is maintained.
• Update government data systems pertaining to TMDE, including ERP, TMDE, MCMS, and other systems as directed.
• Review, provide recommendations for, and adhere to SOPs and instructions applicable to tasking; participate in team meetings and audits when applicable.
• Monitor packaging, shipment, and disposal supplies, including labels, tape, boxes, bubble wrap, and related materials; coordinate with branch personnel to obtain supplies related to assigned tasking.
Fire Control Support (50%)
• Inspect, receive, handle, and store portable computing devices (PCDs); coordinate with the Logistics Lead, Organizational Material Administrator (OMA), and security personnel, if applicable, on all incoming PCDs and associated material; assist with resolution of damaged and/or misdirected PCDs; apply labels to PCDs as directed.
• Maintain records and logbooks for receipts; provide status reports and metrics on incoming receipts as needed.
• Ensure PCDs are received in a timely manner and work areas are maintained in a clean, safe, and orderly manner.
• Pull PCDs from storage or staging areas to inspect, package, and ship; prepare shipment documents and packing lists; apply and/or remove labels as directed; coordinate shipments with NSLC/transportation.
• Maintain records and logbooks for shipments; provide status reports and metrics on outgoing shipments as needed.
• Coordinate PCDs to be excessed or disposed with the Logistics Lead; inspect, pull, prepare, and stage PCDs for excess/disposal; prepare documentation for PCDs to be excessed; coordinate with local property office, DLA, and/or ITD to disposition PCDs.
• Perform acceptance testing, repairs, and battery checks on PCDs.
• Perform security checks on safe as required; assist with inventory of classified hardware as required.
• Update government data systems pertaining to PCDs.
• Review, provide recommendations for, and adhere to SOPs and instructions applicable to tasking; participate in team meetings when applicable.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS amp; ABILITIES:
• Active SECRET Security Clearance.
• U.S. Citizen.
• Valid driver's license.
• Forklift certification required; may be required to drive Government owned/leased vehicles and material handling equipment, including forklifts, hoists, cranes, and trucks, on-site at NSWC Crane.
• ESD certification required.
• Ability to lift and move heavy equipment required.
• Organizational, computer, communication, and data entry skills required.
• Classified shipments and receipts may be required.
• Background in Navy Supply procedures desirable; background in Test Equipment useful.
• Background in PHS amp;T desirable; background as a computer technician useful.
