Job description

Position: Network & Security Infrastructure - Service Delivery Manager

Location: Libertyville, IL (Onsite)

Duration: Long term contract

Role Summary:

The Network & Security Infrastructure Lead responsible for end-to-end ownership of network and security operations across a complex hybrid infrastructure comprising on-premises data centers, multiple physical locations, access points, and Azure cloud networks.

This is a client-facing, onsite leadership role acting as the primary Point of Contact (POC) for all network and security operations. The role combines hands-on technical expertise with operational governance, ensuring service stability, incident control, and service delivery excellence in alignment with ITIL best practices

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own and lead 24x7 network and security operations across on-prem, cloud, and hybrid environments.
  • Act as the primary onsite POC for network and security operations, escalations, and governance.
  • Lead incident triage, major incident management, root cause analysis (RCA), and resolution.
  • Provide hands-on troubleshooting for complex and critical network and security issues.
  • Manage operational shifts, handovers, and overlap coverage to ensure uninterrupted services.
  • Ensure compliance with SLA, KPI, and ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change).
  • Drive continuous service improvement, operational optimization, and automation initiatives.
  • Deliver operational, service, and executive-level reporting to client stakeholders.

Required Skills & Hands-On Experience:

  • Hands-on proficiency with Cisco CLI, Meraki Dashboard, FortiGate (GUI/CLI), Aruba SD-WAN Orchestrator, Zscaler console, and Cisco routers/switches.
  • Hands-on experience with ClearPass (Network Access Control) and Infoblox (DNS, DHCP, IPAM) operations and troubleshooting.
  • Strong understanding of routing and switching protocols including EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, STP, VLANs, and VRFs.
  • Hands-on experience with firewalls, VPNs, NAT, ACLs, QoS policies, and TCP/IP across hybrid data center–cloud environments.
  • Working knowledge of Azure networking, including VNets, VPN Gateway, ExpressRoute, NSGs, and routing.
  • Experience with VMware virtual networking, including vSwitches, distributed switches, port groups, and VLAN tagging.
  • Familiarity with network and performance monitoring using LogicMonitor and Azure Network Watcher.
  • Understanding of storage network protocols (iSCSI, NFS, SMB) and connectivity troubleshooting with Dell PowerStore / Isilon.
  • Strong understanding of backup and replication traffic flows involving Commvault, Zerto, and storage systems.
  • Exposure to ITSM tools (ServiceNow, Remedy) and ITIL service management processes including Incident, Problem, and Change Management.
  • Strong documentation, communication, and cross-team collaboration skills in a client-facing environment.

Experience & Certifications:

  • 14+ years of experience in enterprise Network & Security Infrastructure Operations, preferably in managed services or large hybrid environments.
  • Relevant certifications are a plus, including but not limited to:
  • CCNP / CCIE (Enterprise or Security)
  • Fortinet NSE 4 / NSE 5 / NSE 7
  • Aruba ACNP / ACSP
  • Microsoft Azure Networking (AZ-700)
  • ITIL v4 Foundation
