Job description

Cisco FirePower, AMP, and SMA Infrastructure Engineer
Location: Suitland, MD

Clearance Required: Active TS/SCI


Leidos is seeking a Cisco FirePower, AMP, and SMA Infrastructure Engineer in Suitland, MD to deploy and sustain Cisco FirePower IPS, Cisco AMP Private Cloud, and Cisco SMA appliances supporting intrusion detection, malware defense, and threat analysis across NAVINTEL networks.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Engineer and maintain FirePower IPS rulesets, policies, logging, and appliance performance.
  • Manage AMP agents, malware analysis workflows, and threat intelligence integration.
  • Operate SMA for sandboxing and advanced malware analytics.
  • Support incident response, tuning, and reporting.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in CS, IT, IA or a related area with 8+ years of experience or a Master's degree with 6+ years of experience. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance.
  • Extensive experience with cyber infrastructure or security tool engineering.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting Computer Network Defense (CND) operations and technologies.
  • Professional experience designing, developing, integrating, implementing, operating, and analyzing cybersecurity technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco FirePower, IPS/IDS, malware analysis tools, and network appliances.
  • Strong troubleshooting and system engineering background.

Required Certifications:

  • Active IAT or IAM Level II/III DoD approved 8570 baseline certification, such as Security+ CE or CASP certification.
